WHEREAS, Since its founding in 1947, the Lincoln Park Cha Chicago's largest neighborhood chamber; and
WHEREAS, Each year, the Lincoln Park Chamber of Commerce hosts a gala Awards Luncheon honoring the Chamber's most outstanding businesses in four categories: Retailer of the Year, Hospitality Business of the Year, Personal or Professional Service Provider of the Year and an Excellence in Arts & Culture Award; and
WHEREAS, The 2013 Retailer of the Year Award goes to the MINI of Chicago. This outstanding Mini-Cooper dealership located on West Diversey Parkway, the only one of its kind in this city, is proud to offer customers a large inventory of the latest models of the MINI brand; and
WHEREAS, MINI of Chicago is a LPCC Platinum Sponsor and supported last year's "The Best Holiday Party Ever" with the donation of time, space and resources that made the event such a success. Furthermore, MINI of Chicago's support of that event helped the LPCC contribute $2,000 to the Lakeview Pantry; and
WHEREAS, In addition, MINI of Chicago hosts countless events benefitting dozens of organizations within the Lincoln Park neighborhood and throughout Chicago. MINI of Chicago's General Manager Steve McDonald is an active supporter of both the LPCC and the Lincoln Park community; and
WHEREAS, The Honorable Michele Smith, Alderman of the 43rd Ward, has apprised this august body of the noteworthy honor bestowed upon this outstanding Lincoln Park dealership; now therefore
BE IT RESOLVED That we, the Mayor and members of the City Council gathered together this 10lh Day of April, 2013 AD, do hereby salute the MINI of Chicago on the occasion of its prestigious award and extend our very best wishes for continuing success for many more years to come.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED That a suitable copy of this resolution be prepared and presented to Steve McDonald and MINI of Chicago.
