RESOLUTION TO HONOR VINCENT MASTROMAURO AND HIS DEDICATION TO
THE SIX CORNERS COMMUNITY AND THE CITY OF CHICAGO
WHEREAS, Villa Roma Salon & Spa opened on September 19, 19777, at 3936 North Cicero, in the Six Corners Business District; and,
WHEREAS, Villa Roma has been contributing to Six Corners success since Vincent Mastromauro chose to relocate his business to Six Corners from Blue Island in 1977; and,
WHEREAS, Vincent Mastromauro was a co-founder of Six Corners Association and has dedicated countless hours to improving the community; and,
WHEREAS, Vincent Mastromauro came to America as an Italian immigrant and raised a family of six children with Nina, his wife of 57 years, and has embodied the American Dream through his hard work, dedication to his craft, and support of his community; and,
WHEREAS, Vincent Mastromauro was once named "Man of the Year" by the Roffler Corp. for introducing new hair cutting techniques from Italy, namely the Razor Cut; and,
WHEREAS, three generations of Mastromauros have styled hair and served their customers with the utmost quality and care; and,
WHEREAS, his son, Michael, followed in the family business and has taught hundreds of beauticians the trade to help them continue and grow in business and style innovation; and,
WHEREAS, Michael's daughter, Nina, is carrying on the family tradition and bringing fresh life to this quintessential small family business that we cherish; therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED, That we, the Mayor and members of the Chicago City Council gathered here this tenth day of April, 2013 A.D., do hereby honor Vincent Mastromauro for his years of service to the community and for being a model small business at Six Corners. Further, we extend our gratitude for his making certain that the Six Corners community and Chicago at large remain well coiffed; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be prepared and presented to Vincent Mastromauro and Villa Roma Salon & Spa.
