HONORING JOHN KEATING ON THE OCCASION OF HIS 50th BIRTHDAY
WHEREAS, John Keating, Forman of Electrical Mechanics for the City of Chicago, exemplifies all the qualities that the citizens of our great city deserves; and
WHEREAS, John Keating is the consummate professional and goes about the performance of his duties in a quite and knowledgeable manner which benefit our Honorable Mayor, Rahm Emanuel, and the body of the Chicago City Council, in every task he is charged with; and
WHEREAS, John Keating is the beloved husband of Tina Keating and father to Felicia Keating, the daughter he adores and is a stable family man determined to provide and care for those he loves; and
WHEREAS, John Keating in the past 10 years has used the knowledge of his trade to go above and beyond his assigned duties to drive the efforts to improve and update the City Council equipment by working with vendors and to pin point the most urgent needs and closely monitor all upgrades to make certain of compatibility with what was already present in the chamber, 201A and as well as the office of the Mayor and all the other events that are sponsored by the City of Chicago; and
WHEREAS, John Keating is constantly thinking about how best to continue to improve the quality of the equipment by working with those charged with the provision of service to our elected public officials; and
WHEREAS, During his off hours, J.K. as our previous Sergeant-At-Arms knows him, loves to play golf, as many of those in this Chamber can attest. John is a dedicated employee of the City of Chicago, a life time constituent of the 11th Ward and a vital and active member of his grateful community; and
WHEREAS, This august body has been informed by the Honorable Michelle A. Harris, Alderman of the Eighth Ward and Chairman of the Committee on Committees, Rules and Ethics, and the Honorable James Balcer, Alderman of the 11th Ward and Chairman on the Committee on Public Safety, that John Keating will be celebrating his 50th Birthday on December 19, 2013 and it is appropriate to recognize him on this occasion and offer our best wishes for many more years of healthy and happy celebrations; and
Be It Resolved, The we, the Mayor and members of the Chicago City Council gathered here this eleventh day of December, 2013 A.D., do hereby offer a hearty Happy Birthday wish to John Keating, the unseen engine that drives the audio and visual train of our City Council sound as well as the office of the Mayor.
Be It Further Resolved, That a suitable copy of this resolution be prepared and presented to John Keating as a token of our appreciation and acknowledgement of his valuable behind the scene impeccable work.
