TRIBUTE TO THE LIFE OF O.C.POOLE
WHEREAS, In His Infinite Wisdom, Almighty God has called O.C.Poole, an outstanding public servant and member of his community, to his eternal reward, Thursday January 3, 2013; and
WHEREAS, O.C. Poole was born November 22, 1933 in Hermitage, Arkansas to the late Harvey Poole and Addie Smith. He was the third of five children who brought laughter into their home. He received his education in Bradley County, Arkansas; and
WHEREAS, O.C. Poole accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of LeClaire Missionary Baptist Church in the early 1960's. He served on the Usher board, served as a deacon, and then he was ordained into the ministry as an Evangelist, preaching and teaching at numerous churches, visiting the sick and giving communion every first Sunday at Bronzeville Nursing Home. He faithfully served the Lord until his death; and
WHEREAS, O.C. Poole and the former Pearline Patton were united in Holy Matrimony on March 20, 1954 in Hermitage Arkansas and were blessed with the birth of five children. O.C. Poole was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, friend and neighbor who will be deeply missed but the memory of his character, intelligence and compassion will live on in those who knew and loved him; and
WHEREAS, O.C. Poole leaves to celebrate his life and cherish his memory, his devoted wife, Peaarline Poole, three sons, Donald, Norman (Stephanie), and Curtis; two daughters, Darlene (George), and Dedita (George Brown); five grandchildren, Norman Jr., Monica, George, Jr. (Tiara), Jeremy and Markie; four great grandchildren, Jada, Jasmyn, Shuntara, and Cameron, and a host of a host of other relatives and many friends; and
WHEREAS, The Honorable Toni Foulkes, Alderman of the 15th Ward has informed this august body of the passing of O.C. Poole; now therefore
Be It Resolved, That we, the Mayor and members of the City of Chicago City Council assembled this 13th day of February 2013, A.D., do hereby express our sincerest sympathies to the family and friends of Mr. O.C. Poole and extend our deepest condolences to all those who cherish his memory and mourn his passing.
Be It Further Resolved, That a suitable copy of this resolution be prepared and presented to the families of Mr. O.C. Poole.
