RESOLUTION

 

 

 

 

WHEREAS, Michelle Drucker Friedman is the congregational Cantor at Emanuel Congregation in Chicago,

WHEREAS, Michelle Drucker Friedman has served the congregants of Emanuel Congregation for 25 years, and

WHEREAS, Emanuel Congregation has been an Edge water institution on Chicago's lakefront in the 48th Ward since 1954, and

WHEREAS, Michelle Drucker Friedman earned her BFA from Syracuse University, studied voice at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts, and pursued a professional acting career until her love of Cantorial music led her to her current career at Emanuel Congregation in

1994,

WHEREAS, Michelle Drucker Friedman inspires everyone with her enthusiasm and love of Torah as a teacher and spiritual leader both at Emanuel Congregation and in the community at large, works to build a more tolerant and loving spiritual community with Edgewater Community Religious Association (ECRA), and holds leadership positions within her profession such as serving as Vice President of the Chicago/Milwaukee Association of Cantors,

BE IT RESOLVED, that we, the Mayor and members ofthe City Council ofthe City of Chicago, gathered here this day of April 10, 2019, do hereby congratulate and honor Cantor Michelle Drucker Friedman for her 25 years of dedication to Emanuel Congregation and the citizens of Chicago.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Cantor Michelle Drucker Friedman.
