A Resolution Honoring the Life of Jeremiah Hosea Moore

WHEREAS, The members of this City Council Chamber were deeply saddened to learn ofthe passing of Jeremiah Hosea Moore, a young citizen of the Austin community in Chicago, by 37* Ward Alderman Emma Mitts. Recently, Jeremiah Hosea Moore finished his race as a strong Christian and man of faith and has received his crown of righteousness; and
WHEREAS, Jeremiah Hosea Moore was born into life on May 5, 1989 to Felicia Moore and Hozia Jackson, and passed into eternity on June 8, 2013. He attended Brennemann Elementary school and graduated from Arai Elementary school in 2003. Jerry further attended Senn High School and was a 2008 graduate of Prologue High. He briefly attended Cincinnati State University, and was most recently a student at Malcolm X College. His life's passion was basketball and he perfected his game at the Clarendon Park District. He played in both high school and college, leading his team to the Regional Championship in 2013.
WHEREAS, Jeremiah, or "Jerry" as he was affectionately called, accepted Christ at an early age, and was a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Apostolic Faith, under the leadership of Dr. Royce D. Cornelius. Jerry was well-known and respected by friends and family alike as a responsible, hard-working, strong and respectable man; and
WHEREAS, Jeremiah leaves to cherish his memories: his mother Felicia (Andrea), one child Juelz Tate and three unborn children; Grandparents, James, Sr. & Mrs. Barbara McClinton and Patricia Moore; three brothers, three sisters, eight uncles, eleven aunts, and an assorted host of beloved family and friends; and
WHEREAS, Jerry was also a very talented and giving individual and he cared deeply about other people. His heart was so big it had room for everyone with whom he crossed paths. His love shines brightly in the hearts of many and his memory will be cherished forever; and
BE IT RESOLVED, That we, the Mayor and Members of the City Council of the City of Chicago, assembled this twenty-sixth day of June, 2013, do hereby applaud his exceptional efforts on the behalf of the citizens of Chicago; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That suitable_copjes of this resolution be prepared and presented to
