ORDINANCE
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF CHICAGO:
Section 1. Pursuant to Section 2-8-040 of the Municipal Code of Chicago,
Which allows erection of honorary street name designations, the Commissioner of the Chicago Department of Transportation shall take the necessary action for the standardization of S. Morgan St between W. 14lh St and W. 14'" PL as
''Honorary Darius D'Arco Teague Way". Section 2. This ordinance shall take effect upon its passage and publication.

Darius D" Arco Teague was born November 4 , 1991 in Chicago Illinois. As the oldest born child to mother Byvette Newell-Dobbs and father Michael Teague. Darius is one of 11 children in his family. Darius attended John M. Smith Elementary School and Al Raby College Prep, where he participated on his school's football team. Following his high school graduation, Darius attended Harold Washington College, to pursue a degree in Film Scripting.
After graduating from Harold Washington, Darius served his country by joining the U.S Army in 2014, where he served as an Automated Logistical Specialist CRS. During his time in service, he was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, the Global War on Terrorism Medal. Korea Defense Service Medal, the Army Service Ribbon, and Overseas Service.
Following his service across the world, he returned home with an honorable discharge and started working as a freight distributor and customer service representative, until his untimely death on October 30l\ 2021.
Throughout his life, Darius was very intelligent, smart and respectful of others. He exemplified an extraordinary young man and was a great inspiration for his younger siblings and family members.
