City Council June 17th, 2020
RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, Dominica Murphy has been called to eternal life by the wisdom of God at the age of 91 to her eternal reward; and
WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been informed of her passing by the Honorable Patrick D. Thompson, Alderman of the 11th Ward; and
WHEREAS, Dominica "Minnie" Murphy, nee Parisi, Beloved wife of the late Francis, who was surely waiting for his lovely wife at the gates of heaven to celebrate what would have been their 66th anniversary on April 24th; loving mother of Mike (Eileen), Carolyn, Frank, Dan, Kathy, Tom, Jim and Bill; cherished grandmother of Nicole (Tony) Layman, Michael Murphy (Allison Vlinica), Victoria (Tony) Raspante and Anthony Murphy; proud great grandmother of Jake, Katie, Abby, Frankie, Sam, Michael, Joey, Ben and Sean; dearest sister of the late Marie Henriksen and Carmella and Theresa Parisi; fond aunt of many nieces and nephews; and
WHEREAS, Minnie was an excellent cook and loved to be in the kitchen; While her culinary creations were enjoyed by everyone, she was most proud of her spaghetti sauce and lasagna; Minnie's unwavering devotion to Padre Pio and the Blessed Mother gave her great comfort, she was an extremely spiritual person and regardless of the challenge she or those she loved faced, Minnie would pick up her rosary and also prayed many novenas; Minnie had an upbeat disposition with a deep and contagious laughter that came easily, she was a wonderful mother and grandmother and gave of herself fully, always putting her family before self; Minnie was a kind and loving woman who was passionate about her family and deeply loved by all who knew her, She will be profoundly missed and never forgotten; and
WHEREAS, Her love of life and ability to live it to the fullest endeared Dominica to her family members, friends and all who knew her, and enabled her to enrich their lives in ways they will never forget; now, therefore
BE IT RESOLVED, That we, the Mayor and members ofthe City Council ofthe City of Chicago gathered here this seventeenth of June 2020, do hereby express our sorrow on the death of Dominica Murphy and extend to her family and friends our deepest sympathy; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Dominica Murphy.
