RESOLUTION CONGRATULATING MRS. GENEVA JACKSON ON HER SEVENTY-FIFTH BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION
WHEREAS, Mrs. Geneva Jackson, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, respected community person, friend and servant of the Lord will celebrate her seventy-fifth birthday on April 17, 2011; and
WHEREAS, Geneva matured into a young woman filled with an abundance of grace, charm, wisdom and patience and she soon captured the heart of the man who was to become her soul mate, Curtis Jackson, Jr. They were united in Holy Matrimony and to this union three daughters and one son were born, Tenisha, Selina, Karen and Curtis Ewin. Geneva and Curtis Jackson, Jr. blissfully shared forty-three of happiness and togetherness with each other and their wonderful children. Geneva has also been blessed with being witness to the birth of four grandchildren, and two great grandchildren; and
WHEREAS, Mrs. Geneva Jackson moved into her grateful 27th Ward community in 1965 and has resided in the same home which has given her many cherished times and a multitude of memorable moments; and
WHEREAS, Cognizant of the history to which Geneva Jackson has both witnessed and contributed, this devoted and cherished friend of many and good neighbor to all, is richly deserving of the adulation and good wishes she is offered as she celebrates her seventy-fifth birthday; and
WHEREAS, Geneva Jackson is a remarkable person and an inspiration to all who have reached their golden years and a treasured matriarch to her grateful and loving family and friends; and
WHEREAS, Happily for her 27th Ward community, Mrs. Geneva Jackson has always been mindful of her civic duties and has also involved her energies and talents in numerous neighborhood festivities. She is a member of First Baptist Congregational Church, D.O.V.E., Garfield Conservatory Alliance, Bethany Brethren Seniors Club, Seniors on the Move and many more; and
WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been informed of this joyous occasion by the Honorable Walter Burnett, Jr., Alderman of the 27th Ward; now, therefore,
Be It Resolved, That we, the Mayor and members of the City Council of the City of Chicago, gathered here this thirteenth day of April, 2011 A.D., do hereby extend our heartfelt wishes to Mrs. Geneva Jackson on her 75th Birthday.
Be It Further Resolved, That a suitable copy of this resolution be prepared and presented to Mrs. Geneva Jackson. *
