RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, Salvatore A. Dispensa has been called to eternal life by the wisdom of God at the age of 88 to his eternal reward; and
WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been informed of his passing by the Honorable Patrick D. Thompson, Alderman of the 11th Ward; and
WHEREAS, Salvatore was born in Chicago to the late James and the late Nellie (nee Gallo) Dispensa on November 23, 1933, proudly growing up in the "Gallo House" on 24th Street. Loving older brother of the late Mariano "Mario" (the late Diane) Dispensa, and the late Marie Joyce Sherry (the late Timmy) Rocco. Brother-in-law of Rally Sherry. Dearest uncle of Lisa, Thomas, and Anthony (Cathy) Rocco, Laura Dispensa (Thomas) Howard and Jimm (Ana Vargas) Dispensa. Greatest great uncle of Tyler and Mario Howard, Morgan (Matthew) Munizzi, Anthony (Hannah) Rocco, Alex Rocco, Owen and Faris Dispensa; and
WHEREAS, Salvatore is also remembered by aunts, cousins, neighbors, friends, fellow teachers and past students. Proud Alumnus of: Santa Maria lncoronata Grammer School, De LaSalle High School, University of Illinois, and the University of Colorado. Salvatore served as a Staff Sergeant in the United States Air Force and was a Korean War Veteran. Salvatore was a proud High School Typing Teacher for 34 years teaching at Joliet Central High School and Joliet Catholic High School. He will be remembered as a devoted Chicago White Sox fan his entire life and dog lover especially to his dogs Sparky & Socks; and
WHEREAS, His love of life and ability to live it to the fullest endeared Salvatore to his family members, friends and all who knew him, and enabled him to enrich their lives in ways they will never forget; now, therefore
BE IT RESOLVED, That we, the Mayor and members ofthe City Council ofthe City of Chicago gathered here this twenty-third of February 2022, do hereby express our sorrow on the death of Salvatore A. Dispensa and extend to his family and friends our deepest sympathy; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Salvatore A. Dispensa.
