MEMORIAL RESOLUTION CELEBRATING THE LIFE OF LORRAINE LEONA STARR MORAN GARRETT
 
WHEREAS, Lorraine Leona Starr Moran Garrett, outstanding citizen and beloved friend had been called to eternal life; and
 
WHEREAS, A cherished friend and good neighbor to all, Lorraine Leona Starr Moran Garrett had enriched the lives of the young and the old. She will be deeply missed but the memory of her character, intelligence and compassion will live on in those who knew and loved her; and
 
WHEREAS, Lorraine Garrett's legacy is her family. She was the beloved wife of the late Edward L. Moran Sr. and the late William Garrett Jr., loving mother of Lorraine Moran (daughter Little Lorraine) (deceased), William A. Moran (deceased), Edward L. Moran Jr. (deceased), Rosetta Fontes, Helen Cook (Bobby Sr.), Linda Heath, Maida Jackson, Terri Cochran (Phillip Sr.), Gerri Humphrey (Harold Sr.), James A. Moran (Eleanor), Randy Moran Sr. (Felicia), Georgette Garrett, Richard Garrett, Francis Garrett, Marilyn Garrett, William Garrett III, and Joseph Garrett; devoted grandmother of 29 grandchildren, 45 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren; a special friend of Jane Clark, Theresa Rodgers (Henry Sr.), Martha Scott, Sister Jamison, Sister Richmens and everyone at Churchview Senior Supportive Living; aunt of many nieces and nephews and a good friend of many; and
 
WHEREAS, This august body has been informed of her passing by the Honorable Michelle A. Harris, Alderman of the 8th Ward; and
 
WHEREAS, Her love of life and ability to live it to the fullest endeared Lorraine Leona Starr Morgan Garrett to her family members and friends. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, skating, shopping, playing cards, dancing and babysitting for her family and neighbors; and
 
WHEREAS, Lorraine Leona Starr Morgan Garrett leaves to celebrate her life and cherish her memory her loving and devoted family members and many friends; now, therefore,
 
Be It Resolved, That we, the Mayor and members of the City Council of the City of Chicago, gathered here this eleventh day of September 2013, A.D., do hereby commemorate Lorraine Leona Starr Moran Garrett for her grace-filled life and do hereby join her loved ones in celebrating the life of this wonderful woman and outstanding citizen.
 
Be It Further Resolved, That a suitable copy of this resolution be prepared and presented to the family of Lorraine Leona Starr Morgan Garrett.
