RESOLUTION MEMORIALIZING THE LIFE OF ISSAC KNOTEN. JR

 

 

WHEREAS, In His infinite wisdom, God has granted eternal rest to Issac Knoten, Jr. on Wednesday, January 6, 2016, at the age of sixty-nine; and

 

WHEREAS, Issac Knoten, Jr. started his life's journey on September 16, 1945 in Louisiana. He was the eldest of eight children born to the loving union of the late Lucille and Issac Knoten. Issac accepted Christ as his personal Savior at a young age and was baptized by Reverend Ed Pattyway. He graduated from Sevier High School in 1967 and moved to Chicago that summer to make it his home; and

 

WHEREAS, Issac Knoten, Jr. affectionately was known as "Papa" by family members and friends. Issac was a dedicated employee who applied his skills to everything he did. He had a passion for cooking, bowling and was a sports enthusiast; and

 

WHEREAS, A vital and active member of his family and community, Issac Knoten, a civic minded individual was involved in community organizations. After 25 years of dedicated service with the Cook County Highway Department District 5, Issac retired as the Road Maintenance Supervisor., to spend more quality time with his family and friends; and

 

WHEREAS, Issac Knoten, Jr., a loving father, grandfather, brother, friend and neighbor had enriched the lives of the young and the old. He will be deeply missed, but the memory of his character, intelligence and compassion will live on in those who knew and loved him; and

WHEREAS, The Honorable Michelle A. Harris, Alderman of the 8th Ward, has brought his passing to the attention of this august body; and

WHEREAS, Issac Knoten, Jr. leaves to celebrate his life and cherish his memory, his live long partner, Johnnie Pringle; children, Stephanie Pringle Monica Pringle, Arthur Pringle, III, Tawanna Ashford; grandchildren, D'airus Pringle, Maurisa Terry and Kendidra Leaks; sisters, Fannie (Henry) Thomas, Gloria Johnson, Jessie (Willie Lee Knoten, Frank (Joan) Knoten, Mary (Charles Anderson) Knoten, Robert (Alberta Martin)Knoten, Kelly (Yvonnie) Knoten; a very close friend, George Jamison, and Lance Howard; a host of aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends; now, therefore

Be It Resolved, That we, the Mayor and members of the City Council of the City of Chicago, gathered here this tenth day of February 2016, A.D., do hereby express our sorrow on the passing of Issac Knoten, Jr., and extend our sincere condolences to his family and friends.
