RESOLUTION

 

WHEREAS, Salvador Campos has been called to eternal life by the wisdom of God at the age of 93 to his eternal reward; and

 

WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been informed of his passing by the Honorable Patrick D. Thompson, Alderman of the 11th Ward; and

 

WHEREAS, Salvador Campos, beloved husband of the late Genevieve nee Reyez; loving father of Ruben (late Lorelei) Campos and Christine Campos (late Allen Havclka); cherished and honored grandfather of Dino Campos (Vanessa Arroyo), Salina Mendoza, Lisa Campos (Jaime Guzman), Alyanna Havelka, and Salvador Campos-Havelka and great-grandfather of Cezanni, Gustavo Jr., and Gianna; dearest brother of the Late Maria Campos, Genevieve (Ricardo) Cao-Romero, the Late Jesus De Jose Campos; also survived by numerous loving nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Jose De Jesus Campos and Rosario (nee Rosales) Castillo; and

 

WHEREAS, Salvador was a lifetime resident of the South Side of Chicago - Canaryville neighborhood; He was very proud and honored to serve his country as a Corporal in the United States Army Signal Corps during the Korean War; He was a member of the Canaryville Veterans Association, CVRA, A.S.I.D (American Society of Interior Designers), Federation of Musicians and the trumpet player of Los Hermanos Lopez Latino Band; and

 

WHEREAS, His love of life and ability to live it to the fullest endeared Salvador to his family members, friends and all who knew him, and enabled him to enrich their lives in ways they will never forget; now, therefore

 

BE IT RESOLVED, That we, the Mayor and members ofthe City Council ofthe City of Chicago gathered here this fourteenth of October 2021, do hereby express our sorrow on the death of Salvador Campos and extend to his family and friends our deepest sympathy; and

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That a suitable copy oflhis resolution be presented to the family of Salvador Campos.
