WHEREAS, Frederick "Fred" Morish, loving father, grandfather, brother, husband, son, and friend, departed this life on October 24, 2022; and
WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been informed of Fred's passing by the Honorable Emma Mitts, Alderman of the 37th Ward; and
WHEREAS, Fred was born in Chicago on January 29, 1937 to the union of Mary and Hadley Morish; Fred completed his formal education at Chicago Public Schools, and confessed Christ at an early age, remaining a faithful servant until his passing; and
WHEREAS, A skilled and decorated boxer, Fred won the 1958 amateur Golden Gloves before retiring from the sport in 1960 to become a coach; and
WHEREAS, After the passing of his wife, Mary Morish, with whom he shared five children, Fred met his life partner, Dorothy Hibble, with whom he shared seven children; and
WHEREAS, Fred was a moral and just man who lived by the golden rule and was a godfather to many, welcoming all with open arms into his home; A provider, protector, and strong family man, who was the patriarch of two generations of children and grandchildren, and was adored by all those in his presence; and
WHEREAS, Fred was preceded in death by his father Hadley Morish, Sr.; mother Mary Slaw; wife Mary Morish; life partner, Dorothy Hibble; two sons, David Hibble and Foster Morish; daughter Cynthia Hibble; six brothers, Earl Morish, Archie Morris, Hadley Morish, Jr., Bosley Morish, Maurice Morish, and Foster Morish; and sister Josephine Morish; and
WHEREAS, Fred leaves to cherish his memory three sisters, Luella Dixon, Mary Ann Word, and Bernice Hillman; brother Nathaniel Morish; three daughters, Carrie Hibble, Beverly Morish, and Demetria Morish, six sons, Anthony Morish, Tommie Morish, Daman Morish, Frederick Hibble, Jr., Louis Hibble, and Frederick Morish Jr.; son-in-law Samuel Martin; Frank Eggleston; five grandchildren, David Jackson, Jr., Dominique Robitson, Frank Hibble, Azarria Eggleston, David Hibble; and Samaya Martin; four great-grandchildren, Deslyn Cross, Diamond Cross, Dorothy Cross, and Deont'e Cross; and a host of loving nieces, nephews, relatives, friends, and
WHEREAS, To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord; Fred was informed by the Lord that his mansion was ready, and He is Fred's new landlord; now, therefore

BE IT RESOLVED, That we, the Mayor and members of the City Council of the City of Chicago, gathered here this fourteenth day of December, 2022, do hereby honor the life and memory of Frederick Morish; and
