CELEBRATING THE LIFE OF A REMARKABLE MAN
GEORGE ALLEN DIXON JR.
WHEREAS, George Allen Dixon Jr., affectionately known as Bunny was called home by the GREAT I AM on Thursday, October 14, 2021, a day we had planned to spend quality time with our dear brother and closest friend. George Allen Dixon Jr., a man well-known for his integrity, expertise in business affairs, luminous smile and sincere love for people humbly responded to the call of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, "Come for I have prepared a place specifically for thee; a mansion the size of a city where your soul will find eternal rest. As you enter into your new home there you will find photographs of every life that you have touched." Immediately, tears began to stream slowly from George eyes as his heart connected with Jesus. The Angels stood by Heaven's Gate and shouted with an exuberant voice, "Glory lo the King. George made it home!"
WHEREAS, George Allen Dixon Jr;, accomplished many things that many found to be impossible. He was the true mastermind of the landscaping business and every person that he encountered respected his presence. George was an amazing friend, a true confidante, filled with years of wisdom and lover of life. He served and worked closely with me on a retail development in.my ward. George Allen Dixon Jr., was the one person that everyone loved and could count on; and
WHEREAS, outside of his time serving as a spiritual advisor and advocate for people everywhere. George Allen Dixon, Jr., thoroughly enjoyed spending time with family, friends, mouthwatering meals and listening to the sweet sounds of his favorite songs. George was a gracious soul and someone that will be admired for years to come; and
WHEREAS, it is only apropos to, say that every letter in George's first name stood for something: G stands for Gracious; he showed kindness through the good and difficult times of his life. E stands for Excellence, he showed great pride in everything he accomplished. O stands for Overcomer, he withstood every challenging moment of this world by prayer and faith in Jesus. R stands Rational, he always sought reason in some of the most tedious situations. G stands for Gentleman, George was the perfect role model that men of every age desired to emulate. E stands for Enthusiastic, he was an incredible person ready to serve the people he encountered with a smile; and
WHEREAS, today, let us not say good-bye but instead stand together in this sanctuary with thankful hearts unto the Lord for allowing us to be in the presence of George Allen Dixon, Jr. and may we find comfort in knowing one day we shall meet him again; and
BE IT RESOLVED, that the Mayor and the members of City Council will gather on Wednesday, November 17,2021; A.D. to acknowledge the life of George Allen Dixon, Jr. for his years of servitude done with a cheerful heart; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this resolution was prepared by 21st Ward Alderman Howard B. Brookins, Jr. and a more suitable copy will be presented to the family of the George Allen Dixon, Jr. at a later date.
