WHEREAS, Pastor William R. Lott, Sr., eminent Senior Pastor of Mount Sinai Missionary Baptist Church, will celebrate his 36th Pastoral'Anniversary on Sunday, October 18, 2015; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has been informed of this occasion by the Honorable Robert W. Fioretti, Alderman of the 2nd Ward; and
WHEREAS, a native of Houston, Texas, Pastor Lott accepted the pastoral leadership of Mount Sinai Church, on June 18,1979; and
WHEREAS, during his tenure of leadership at Mount Sinai, he has lead thousands to Christ as candidates for baptism, rededication, church membership, and other ways of involvement in the church community; and
WHEREAS, his engaging philanthropic leadership style has significantly impacted the human welfare of the religious, civic, social, academic, and political communities; encompassing a broad repertoire of positions, and/or affiliations such as: National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP), Former Commissioner of the Chicago Private Industry Council, Former Treasurer of the Illinois Missionary Baptist State Convention and the National Missionary Baptist Convention of America. He currently holds several offices: Moderator, Midwest Baptist District Association; Director, Pan America Bank (Chicago, Illinois), and Cornerstone Mission, (Manchester, Jamaica); and
WHEREAS in 2005, Aspen Christian College awarded him an Honorary Doctorate Degree for outstanding contributions to academe and urban ministries; and
WHEREAS, Pastor Lott's forty-six years of extensive pastoral experience is invaluable to the community of Mt. Sinai Missionary Baptist Church; now, therefore

BE IT RESOLVED, that we, the Mayor and Members of the City Council of the City of Chicago, assembled this sixth day of May, 2015, do hereby congratulate Pastor William R. Lott, Sr. on his Pastoral Anniversary.
