MEMORIAL RESOLUTION CELEBRATING THBLIFE OF : MOTHER BUELAH CRAWFORD
WHEREAS, Mother Buelah Crawford, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, entered into eternity on October 9, 2021 at the age of 78; and
WHEREAS, The Chicago City:Council has been informed of Mother Buelah's passing by the Honorable Emma Mitts, Alderman

WHEREAS, Buelah was born to Mother Martha Mary Jane Cash, and Brady Bridges in
Osceola, Arkansas on October 25,1942; Buelah was one of ten children with two brothers and
seven sisters; and I -1
WHEREAS, Buelah attended Chicago Public Schools and graduated from John Marshal High
School; and % '
WHEREAS, In 1961 Buelah married John Crawford and to their union five children were born; and H
WHEREAS, Buelah loved being a mother in her church and began her walk
at Gospel Temple Church of God in Christ where she was an active member in the choir, taught
Sunday school, and was a Young People Willing Works Leader; and
WHEREAS, Mother Buelah had an angelic voice and loved singing her favorite song, "Just Another'Day That the Lord1 has Kept Me"; when sheyyas not singing, she^ sewing-making crafts, or having fun with her children, who.regarded her as their best friend; and
WHEREAS, Mother Buelah's memory will forever live on through her sisters, Peggy White and Sue Harvel; her children, Jonathan T. Crawford of Chicago, Zina Crawford-Lott (James) of Chicago, Yvonne C. Burston (Archie) of Southfield, Michigan, Malcolm S. Crawford (Stacia) of Chicago, and Cheryle Roberson (Ujauna) of Chicago;.her.
grandchildren, Albani Crawford, Jermaine Lott, Jovan Lott, Julissa Cummings, Latoya Crawford,
Malcolm Crawford, Jr., Matthew Crawford, Emmanuel Crawford; her great-grandchildren, and a

WHEREAS, Mother Buelah's-will be greatly missed by her family and all who knew and loved

BE IT RESOLVED, That we, the Mayor and members ofthe City Council ofthe City of Chicago,
gathered here this fifteen day of December 2021, do hereby extend our most heartfelt
condolences to the family and friends of Mother Buelah Crawford; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be prepared and presented to the family of Mother Buelah Crawford as a sign of'olir honor and respect.
