Resolution

Whereas, Judith Pier departed this present life on August 20, 2016; and

Whereas, The City Council has been notified of her passing by The Honorable Harry Osterman, Alderman of the 48^th Ward; and

Whereas, Judith Pier was an active and vital member of her community. The beloved wife of Wayne T. Pier, and fond sister-in-law, cousin, aunt, and friend to many; and

Whereas, Judith was a committed Chicago Public Schools teacher for seven years, and remained in contact with some of her student for decades; and

Whereas, Judith successfully ran her own business with her husband, Windy City Records Management, from 1998-2016; and

Whereas, Judith was an active member of St. Gertrude's Church; and

Whereas, Judith contributed to her community by participating on the Board of Directors of the Edgewater Community Council, organizing positive loitering with the Edgewater Beach Neighbors Association, and volunteering at the front desk of the 48^th Ward Office; Now, therefore,

Be it resolved, that we, the Mayor and members of the City Council of the City of Chicago, gathered here this day of November 1, 2016, do hereby express our sorrow on the death of Judith Pier and extend to her family and friends our deepest sympathy; and
