RESOLUTION CONGRATULATING THE CHICAGO ARCHITECTURE CENTER RIVER CRUISE ON BEING NAMED "BEST BOAT TOUR IN NORTH AMERICA 2021" BY USA

WHEREAS, On June 18,2021, the Chicago.Architecture Center was named as having the "Best Boat Tour in North America 2021" by USA Today 10Best; and
WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been informed of this momentous occasion by the Honorable Brian Hopkins, Alderman of the 2nd Ward; and
WHEREAS, USA Today describes the tour, conducted by The Chicago Architecture Center River Cruise aboard Chicago's First Lady, as being "led by highly trained expert docents. On this ninety-minute cruise, you will hear fascinating details about Chicago, including stories about the [architects] who designed -the buildings along the Chicago River"; and
WHEREAS, The Chicago Architecture Center (CAC) is much more than its award-winning architectural tours. The CAC has been serving Chicago since 1966, established as the Chicago Architecture Foundation to save the historic Glessner House. Since then, the CAC has grown to become one of the largest cultural organizations in Chicago; arid
WHEREAS, the architectural boat tour would not be possible without Chicago's First Lady Cruises, which offer "Chicago's finest fleet of cruising vessels"; and,
WHEREAS, The CAC River Cruise is a gem in the crown of our city's civic institutions, educating not only Chicago's native residents, but countless visitors from around the world. Chicago is known for her gleaming skyline, and the Chicago Architecture Center and Chicago's First Lady are stewards to that rich history; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED, That we, the Mayor and members of the City Council of the City of Chicago, gathered here this twenty-third day of June, 2021, do hereby congratulate the Chicago Architecture Center and Chicago's First Lady Cruises on. this incredible achievement and deserving accolade; and
