TRIBUTE TO THE LIFE OF PATRICIA ANN CHACHERE

WHEREAS, Patricia Ann Chachere, an outstanding and most beloved citizen, friend and member of her community, has been called home by our Lord God and Savior Jesus Christ; and

 

WHEREAS, God in His infinite wisdom chose, Tuesday, June 28, 2016 to bring His precious daughter, Patricia Ann Chachere to her heavenly reward; and

 

WHEREAS, Patricia Ann started on her life journey in Little Rock, Arkansas on April 5, 1934 as the second of six children born to the union of the late Louise and Moses Jones. She attended and graduated from elementary school, high school and Philander Smith College, Little Rock Arkansas; and

 

Whereas, A devout Christian, Patricia accepted the Lord as her personal Savior and joyously gave Him thanks and praise. Patricia, a mature young lady with an abundance of grace, charm, patience and wisdom, moved to Chicago where she captured the heart of the man who was to become her loving and devoted husband, Mervin Chachere, and were blessed with three children; and

 

WHEREAS, Patricia Ann Chachere will be remembered as a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, friend and neighbor who enriched the lives of all who knew her in countless ways; and

 

WHEREAS, Patricia Ann Chachere will be deeply missed by all those whose lives she has touched, particularly her three loving children, Verhonda Chachere, Michael Chachere, and Lori King; her two grandchildren, Kikita Chachere (whom she raised) and Evan Chachere; two sisters, Carolyn Rodigues (Jose) and Beverly Blair; brother, Otis Carmichael (Janyce); uncle, Clarence King; aunt, Lucille Peters; sister-in-law, Mary Ann Riddick and a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and neighbors;

 

WHEREAS, The Honorable Michelle A. Harris, Alderman of the 8thWard has informed this august body of the passing of this redoubtable and worthy woman; now therefore

 

Be It Resolved, That we, the Mayor and members of the City ofChicago City Council, assembled here this 20th day of July, 2016 A.D., do hereby express our collective sorrow at the passing of Patricia Ann Chachere and extend our sincere condolences to her family members and friends.

 

Be It Further Resolved, That a suitable copy of this resolution be prepared and presented to the family of Patricia Ann Chachere.
