ORDINANCE
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHICAGO:
SECTION 1. On December 13, 2017, the City Council of the City of Chicago passed an ordinance, referenced as O2017-8426, amending Titles 2, 4 and 7 of the Municipal Code of Chicago regarding food and food-related health regulations (the "Food Regulation Ordinance"). SECTION 6 of the Food Regulation Ordinance is hereby amended by inserting the language underscored, as follows:
SECTION 6. New subsection 2-112-160(a)(7). inserted bv SECTION 1 of this ordinance, shall take effect upon this ordinance's passage and approval. After passage and publication approval, the remainder of this ordinance shall take effect on July 1, 2018.
SECTION 2. This ordinance shall take effect upon its passage and approval, and shall apply retroactively to the date of passage and approval of the Food Regulation Ordinance.

To the President and Members of the City Council:
Reporting for your Committee on Health and Environmental Protection, for which a meeting was held Friday, January 12, 2018 having had under consideration two items. The first, an ordinance sponsored by Mayor Rahm Emanuel proposing amendments to Municipal Code Titles 2, 4, 7 regarding food and food-related health regulations by modifying the effect date for various provisions. The second item, a resolution introduced by Alderman Tunney calling for the Food and Drug Administration to remove the ban on blood donations by men who have had sex with men within the last year. These recommendations were concurred in a voice vote by all committee members with no dissenting votes.
