Alderman Mary Ann Smith 48th Ward
5533 N. Broadway Avenue Chicago, IL 60640
Dear Alderman Smith:
The Robert R. McCormick Boys & Girls Club of Chicago has been an anchor of hope, fun and stability in the lives of Uptown's youth since 1958. Today, our club serves 250 members daily offering specialized programs in the areas of career & education, character & leadership, arts, health & life-skills and sports, fitness & recreation. For many youth, the McCormick Boys & Girls Club is the only alternative for survival from the streets.
As you know, we are a non-for-profit organization and have to raise monies to support our wonderful programs. We simply don't have the resources available to pay the many fees assessed by the City of Chicago.
We are formally requesting the support of your office to introduce to the City Council our Request of Fee Exemption/Waiver. Our current waiver is due to expire on April 13,2011.
Enclosed, you will also find a copy of our 501(c)(3) letter. Please let me know if you need any additional information.
Thank you in advance for your continued support and leadership in the Uptown Community.
Yours in Service to the Community,
George vSeione Club Director
