BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHICAGO:
SECTION 1. That the Commissioner of Buildings, the Executive Director of Construction and Permits, the Commissioner of Transportation, the Commissioner of Streets and Sanitation, the Commissioner of Environment, the Commissioner of Water Management, the Director of Revenue, the Director of Business Affairs and Consumer Protection, the Commissioner of Fire, and the Commissioner of Zoning and Land Use Planning, are hereby directed to issue all necessary permits, all on-site water/sewer inspection fees and all water/sewer plan review fees, free of charge, notwithstanding other ordinances of the City of Chicago to the contrary, to Redtwist Theater. 1044 W. Bryn Mawr, Chicago, II., 60640, a not-for-profit Illinois Corporation, related to the erection and maintenance of building(s) and fuel storage facilities at said locations:

Said building(s) and all appurtenances thereto shall be used exclusively for charitable purposes and shall not be leased or otherwise used with a view to profit, and the work thereon shall be done in accordance with plans submitted and all of the appropriate provisions of the Municipal Code of the City of Chicago and departmental requirements of various departments of the City of Chicago, and said building(s) and all appurtenances thereto shall be constructed and maintained so that they shall comply in all respects with the requirements of the appropriate provisions of the Municipal Code of the City of Chicago for the issuance of all necessary permits and licenses.
SECTION 2. Redtwist Theater, a not-for-profit, Illinois Corporation, shall be exempt from the payment of City license fees and shall be entitled to the cancellation of warrants for collection for inspection fees.
SECTION 3. Redtwist Theater, shall be entitled to a refund of City fees, which it has paid and to which it is exempt pursuant to Sections (1) and (2) of this ordinance.
SECTION 4. This ordinance shall be in force for a period of August 15, 2011 through August 15,2013.

Consequently, sales of any kind to this organization are exempt from the Retailers' Occupation Tax, the Service Occupation Tax (both state and local), the Use Tax, and the Service Use Tax in Illinois.
We have issued your organization the following tax exemption identification number: E9944-7622-03. To claim the exemption, you must provide this number to your suppliers when purchasing tangible personal property for organizational use. This exemption may not be used by individual members of the organization to make purchases for their individual use.
This exemption will expire on April 1, 2016, unless you apply to the Illinois Department of Revenue for renewal at least three months prior to the expiration date.

Dear Ms. Sagartz,
Redtwist Theatre, a non-profit live theatre, located at 1044 Bryn Mawr Avenue, Chicago 60660 has been granted a fee waiver request for the past several years. Sandy Thomas used to handle this for us and always asked us to include the enclosed letters/documents. I understand that she has moved on to another job and you might be the person to handle this. This is usually presented to the city council before their May meeting so the waiver can be voted on and entered in their records. After this was accomplished, Sandy used to send me a fax of the council minutes so I could present it to city inspectors. Our 2-year PAV license is due to renew in August and we'd be very grateful if you could follow through with this. If not, please advise me to whom I should direct this correspondence.
