CELEBRATING THE LIFE OF AN EXTRAORDINARY MAN
OYEDELE OLUSEUN OLUPITAN
WHEREAS, unexpectedly on Tuesday, August 18,2020, Oyedele Oluseun Olupitan physical being was snatched from the earth and everyone in this room feels the incredible void of this great loss:. As days and years approach us, we can find assurance in knowing that Oye has connected with his Creator. We can imagine the Lord saying, "Come here Oye for 1 prepared a place specifically for thee, a mansion the size of a nation where every room will display the names and photographs of the lives that you have touched." We can further envision the Angels standing alongside Heaven's Gate saying, "Welcome Home Oye " and
WHEREAS, Oye was well-known for encouraging youth to walk-out their God-given purpose regardless of stereotypical norms. Oye believed in empowering those that most of us would walk away from. Oyedele Oluseun Olupitan was a true visionary, he walked with keen discernment, and just overall a great brother that showed passion and expressed truth for hundreds to admire from near and afar; and
WHEREAS, some people will remember Oye for his latest fashion, scrumptious meals, boisterous laugh and one-million-dollar smile; and while others recognized the divine calling on life. Oye was the type of.man that gave his last so that others would benefit from the generosity of his pure heart. It is my prayer that his life will be written in history so people of all .ethnic backgrounds can read about his commitment and servitude to all mankind; and
WHEREAS, at this moment, I speak with great confidence, when I say, "Oyedele Oluseun Olupitan also known as Oye name meant much more than your average name." Every letter in his first name stood for something: He was Optimistic in the middle of a Pandemic. He Yearned to see this world become a better place. He Essentially was the go-to person whenever there was a need. He was Determined in spite of the social differences he had to fight through as a man. He was Ecstatic every time he heard about the accomplishments of family, friends and neighbors. He was Leader without question and lastly he was Easygoing, willing to offer a hug in the time of despair; and
WHEREAS, it is my prayer that in this season of your lives you will find strength, in one another. Peace for your weary souls and.be determined to show the love of your Creator Xo all mankind. As you cany out the legacy of Oyedele Oluseun Olupitan remember every obstacle placed in your path is a stepping stone used to push you closer to your destiny; and
BE IT RESOLVED, that the Mayor and the members of City Council will gather together on the 7th Day of October, 2020 A.D., to express their sincere condolences and prayers to everyone that loved Oyedele Oluseun Olupitan.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this resolution was prepared by 21st Ward Alderman Howard B. Brookins, Jr., and a more suitable copy will be presented to the family of Oyedele Oluseun Olupitan at a later date.
