CELEBRATING THE HEAVENLY BIRTHDAY OF
MR. DEMETRIST DESMOND JONES
WHEREAS, on Thursday, August 9, 2018, Mr. Demetrist Desmond Jones was called home by his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, "Come for I have prepared a place specifically for thee, a mansion the size of two cities where your soul will find eternal rest. Before you step into your new home take a sharp right and look at the platinum bookshelf that I have filled with photographs of those lives that you have touched." Suddenly, tears streamed down the face of Mr. Demetrist Desmond Jones as his soul connected with Jesus Christ. His parents who preceded him in death stood by Heaven's Gate smiling and shouting, Glory Hallelujah Desmond will be home before his birthday of October 7th!
WHEREAS, everyone that knew Mr. Demetrist Desmond Jones appreciated his charming personality and genuine passion for the disadvantaged. He was one of my favorite constituent's, a noble man and a gentleman who served others above himself. Truly, Desmond exemplified every quality of a person created in the image and likeness of God. For this reason, and so many others it my hope that men everywhere young and mature will continue the great legacy of the incredible Mr. Demetrist Desmond Jones; and
WHEREAS, the scriptures states, "A good man steps are ordered by the Lord" Mr. Demetrist Desmond Jones fits the biblical description perfectly. He loved his wife, children, siblings and grandchildren immensely. Desmond spent countless hours praying and fasting for their well-being. Whenever he gave them advice it was freely given without complaint. He was the type of man that would allow people to be themselves in his presence no matter their state of mind or current condition. That's why many stand here today in celebration of his Heavenly Birthday because his love for people ran deep as a river and pure as the love of Jesus; and
WHEREAS, I, the Alderman of the 21st Ward, my staff and a well-respected and longtime business owner of my ward, Ms. Lanette Warbington, who most know her as the Jewelry Lady feel it's only apropos to express as a collective group and individually that we will continue to pray for the immediate and extended family, every friend, coworker and associate who has spent from one minute to several hours with Mr. Demetrist Desmond Jones. We hope that each of you will find comfort, unspeakable joy, and peace in God during this very difficult time as you honor Mr. Demetrist Desmond Jones Heavenly Birthday; and
BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and members ofthe City Council will meet on Wednesday, October 31,2018, A.D., to express in their own personal and heartfelt way a very Happy and Heavenly Birthday to Mr. Demetrist Desmond Jones.
