MEMORIAL RESOLUTION FOR CYNTHIA TRAVIS
 
WHEREAS, On July 12, 2012, Almighty God, in His Infinite Wisdom and Judgment, has called to her eternal reward Cynthia Travis, a wife, loving mother, and friend to all; and
 
WHEREAS, On March 25, 1964, Cynthia Travis was brought into this world by her loving parents Jimmie Travis and Bridgett Travis. She accepted Christ at an early age at the First Church of God in Christ in Chicago Heights; and
 
WHEREAS, Cynthia Travis attended both Englewood High School and Kennedy-King College. Since her childhood she has struggled with many obstacles in life such as homelessness but despite these obstacles she still went out of her way to help other people; and
 
WHEREAS, While in this city, Cynthia Travis was a faithful member of her local church and served in the choir as well as being an usher. After she relocated to Madison, Wisconsin, she joined the Mt. Zion Baptist Church and was re-baptized on November 6, 2011, becoming an active congregant and partaking in various activities such as Bible Study as well as driving for their transportation Ministry; and
 
WHEREAS, Cynthia Travis leaves behind to cherish her memory her parents Jimmie Travis and Bridgett Travis; her six children Daphne Wrenn, Tyrone Wrenn Jr., Sharae Travis, Donnell Travis, Justin Thompson, and Charlotta Travis; four grandchildren Jontaevia Smith, Javarion Nunn, Keayla Wrenn, and Ariyonna Ferguson; her two sisters Regina Hillery and Gail Afia; her three brothers James Travis, Lawrence Travis, Raymond Travis as well as a host of nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts, and friends.
 
WHEREAS, The Honorable Toni Foulkes, Alderman ofthe 15th Ward, has informed this august body ofthe passing of this devoted citizen; now therefore
 
BE IT RESOLVED.That we, the Mayor and members ofthe City ofChicago City Council gathered this 8th Day of May. 2013 AD. do hereby express our sinccrest sorrow upon learning ofthe passing of Cynthia Travis and extend our deepest sympathy to her family and all those whose lives she touched.
 
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED That suitable copies of this resolution be prepared and presented to the family of Cynthia Travis.
