SALUTING PRAISE TABERNACLE DELIVERANCE CENTER
 
 
 
WHEREAS, Praise Tabernacle Deliverance Center is celebrating its 20 anniversary with a Banquet Gala on Friday, October 25, 2013; and
WHEREAS, Praise Tabernacle Deliverance Baptist Church was organized in November of 1993 on the Southeast side of Chicago and the first service was held at 8354 South Marquette Avenue. Later, the Church moved to 8704 South Constance and in October of 1994, Praise Tabernacle came to its present location at 9511 South Commercial Avenue; and
WHEREAS, Praise Tabernacle has been a champion in feeding the hungry for the last 20 years through its successful programs, most notable is THE FOOD PANRTY PROGRAM. For over 10 years, the church has provided weekly food bags to families in the community every Saturday. They also prepare countless dinners for families every Thanksgiving and Christmas; and
WHEREAS, In the last three years Praise Tabernacle has established the "HOPE CHEST" OUTREACH MINISTRY program that gives away clothes, shoes, and household items to over 100 neighborhood families in need every month; and
WHEREAS, In 2012, Praise Tabernacle was one of the chosen ministries to operate a Food Desert Community Co-op started by Chris Kennedy (son of the late Senator Bobby Kennedy) called TOP BOX FOODS. This program provides families with a monthly opportunity to purchase top quality produce, fruits and meats at a discounted price; and
WHEREAS, The Honorable John A. Pope, Alderman of the 10th Ward has apprised this august body of the 20th Anniversary Banquet Gala of the Praise Tabernacle Deliverance Center; now therefore
BE IT RESOLVED That we, the Mayor and members of the City of Chicago City Council, assembled here this 16th Day of October, 2013 AD, do hereby salute the Praise Tabernacle Deliverance Center, and express our gratitude for the continuing service to Chicago families; and
BE IT FURTHER ^RESOLVED That a suitable copy of this resolution be prepared and presented to Praise TabarnaeLe Deliverance Center.
