TRIBUTE TO THE LIFE OF DENISE DARCEL DENSON

 

WHEREAS, Almighty God in His infinite wisdom and judgment has called Denise Darcel Denson, outstanding citizen and member of her community, to her everlasting reward on Thursday, February 16, 2017 and

 

WHEREAS, This august body has been informed of Denise Darcel Denson's transition by the Honorable Michelle A. Harris, Alderman of the 8th Ward; and

 

WHEREAS, Born to her loving parents, Willie and Jessie Denson on January 21, 1953, Denise-Darcel was placed in their arms where she felt the warmth and loved exuding from them. Denise was raised and received her education in Chicago. She was a graduate of Parker Elementary School and attended South Shore High School, than later earned her degree; and

 

WHEREAS, Denise Darcel Denson faithfully attended Aenon Bible College. She gave her life to the Lord at an early age and was ordained a minister at Apostolic Church of God. Denise Darcel Denson was an inspiring and beneficial presence in her grateful community. She shared her faith with the young and the old. She was a devoted and loving person who would always listen with an open mind and loving heart; and

 

WHEREAS, Denise experienced and served in various positions for Cook County. In 2016 she retired from the Cook County Medical Examiners office as an investigator after fourteen years of dedicated service; and

 

WHEREAS, Denise Darcel Denson was active in her faith and touched the lives of many. She will be greatly missed and always remembered by her family and friends. Denise leaves to cherish her memory and celebrate her life, her siblings: Karen (William), Jacquelyn (Reynauldt), Angie and William; her loving daughter, Chevette; grandchildren, Jeremiah(deceased) and Jessica; a host of nieces nephews, cousins, extended family members, friends, and her Apostolic Church of God Family; now, therefore,

 

Be It Resolved, That we, the Mayor and members of the City Council of the City of Chicago, gathered here this twenty-ninth day of March 2017, A.D., do hereby express our heartfelt sadness at the loss of such a vital community member as Denise Darcel Denson, and extend our most sincere sympathy to her family and friends.

 

Be It Further Resolved, That a suitable copy of this resolution be prepared and presented to the family of Denise Darcel Denson.
