WHEREAS, it with great privilege to celebrate and honor the dynamic and astute Woman of Virtue, Viola Wise Kennedy on her 100th Year Birthday. A very well respected 21st Ward constituent, cherished neighbor, friend and family member to most;
WHEREAS, Viola Wise Kennedy has dedicated the majority of her life to serving others above her own needs. She spends time in prayer, fasting and loving people in the manner that the Lord is pleased. She's an honest confidante, an astute teacher of the Word of God and she will speak her mind in love irrespective of her surroundings. Viola Wise Kennedy is truly one to .be admired for these reasons and so. many more; and
WHEREAS, statistics show a decline in the family structure, Viola Wise Kennedy heart is always open to creating an atmosphere that is conducive for peace and unity amongst her loved, ones. She is known for spending hours preparing their favorite meals, attending to their every need whether it is financial, emotional or spiritual. Ms. Kennedy is joy to be around and has a smile that will light up the darkest room; and
WHEREAS, every letter in Viola Wise Kennedy's first name stands for something: the letter V stands for Victorious, she has overcome every obstacle throughout societal challenging times. I stands for Intellectual, whenever someone is in her presence they gain much wisdom and understanding. O stands for Optimistic, she has always encouraged others to excel in everything they set their' heart out to do. L stands for Loyal, she is committed and known as a woman of integrity and A stands for Adventurous, she is always interested in new ideas, methods and horizons that would expand her way of thinking;
BE IT RESOLVED, that the Mayor and the members of City Council will stand in unison on Wednesday, March 15, 2023; A.D. to express best wishes to one of the greatest women on earth, Viola Wise Kennedy; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this resolution was prepared by 21st Ward Alderman Howard B. Brookins, Jr. and a more suitable copy will be presented at a later date to Viola Wise Kennedy.
