RESOLUTION

 

 

WHEREAS, On September 3, 1929, the immigrants from Poland established the Alliance of Malopolska Clubs which has united Polish-Americans from a variety of clubs from the Chicagoland area to initiate and coordinate the activities of individual clubs and organizations by encouraging their interest in supporting themselves in the new country as well as providing material and financial support to their hometowns in Poland; and,

 

WHEREAS, The organization has changed its name to the Alliance of Polish Clubs in the USA (APC) to attract clubs from other areas of Poland during their 16th Convention in May 1978; and,

 

WHEREAS, Currently the Alliance of Polish Clubs in the USA unites the following 38 clubs, organizations, and committees: Chor im. Fryderyka Chopina, Klub Btazowian i Okolic, Klub Borek Wielki, Klub Brzeziny, Klub Dotezan w Chicago, Klub Greboszow, Klub Jadowniki Mokre, Klub Parafii Leg Tarnowski, Klub teczan im. W. Witosa, Klub Niedzieliska, Klub Parafii Luszowice, Klub Parafii Olesno, Klub Pilzno, Klub Pojawian w Chicago, Klub Powiatu Mielec, Klub Przybystawice, Klub Przyjaciol Bejsc i Okolic, Klub Przyjaciol Ziemi Ropczyckiej, Klub Przyjaciol Ziemi Tarnowskiej, Klub Stalowa Wola i Okolice, Klub Wojewodztwa Biatostockiego, Klub Wola Przemykowska, Klub Wola Rogowska, Klub Zaborowian, Klub Ziemi Rzeszowskiej "Resovia", Polsko-Amerykanski Klub Lowiecki Knieja, Polsko-Amerykanski Klub towiecki Ostoja, Polska Szkota im. Jana Kochanowskiego, Stowarzyszenie Parafii Wietrzychowice, Towarzystwo Dolnoslqskie w Chicago, Towarzystwo Parafii Strzelce Wielkie, Towarzystwo Ratunkowe Kwikow, Towarzystwo Ratunkowe Szczurowa, Zespot Piesni i Tahca "Wawel", Zrzeszenie Literatow Polskich Im. Jana Pawla II, Teatr Ludowy Rzepicha, Zrzeszenie Przyjaciol Ulanow Pol. im. Gen. Tadeusza Kosciuszki, May 3rd Polish Constitution Day Parade Committee, and Katyn and Smolensk Monument Committee; and,

WHEREAS, Some of Alliance of Polish Clubs in the USA have been established for over 115 years, and many are over 100 years old; and,

 

WHEREAS, The Alliance of Polish Clubs in the USA upholds and cherishes all the fundamental values of their Polish Heritage by consistently arranging and celebrating the national holidays, such as May 3rd Constitution Day with a Parade in downtown Chicago, as well as Harvest Festival, Christmas Eve, and folk festivals throughout the year, so that future generations can appreciate and understand all that their Polish heritage has to offer; and,

 

WHEREAS, The Alliance of Polish Clubs in the USA is striving for strengthening the Polish-American Community by becoming an active and involved part of the American society; and now therefore,

BE IT RESOLVED, That we, the Mayor and members of the City Council of the City of Chicago, gathered here this twentieth day of September 2018 A.D., do hereby congratulate the Alliance of Polish Clubs in the USA on their dedication and services to the Polish community; and,
