CELEBRATING THE LIFE OF A REMARKABLE MAN STEVEN KIM RILEY
WHEREAS, Steven Kim Riley was called home by h\s Lord arid Savior Jesus Christ on a day that none of us seated in this place wanted to accept. Steven was a great friend to many, devoted brother, an awesome sqn,~ brother-in-lovc, uncle and one that brought the ultimate joy to the hearts of everyone that he encountered. Without hesitation, we can all attest to Steven played a.critical part in all of our lives. So today,let us take great comfort in knowing our dear friend is dancing in Heaven and smiling upon us; and
WHEREAS, he was the. voice of reason and a peacemaker in the midst of any chaotic situation. Steven allowed God to use him in ways we never would have imagined. He excelled in teaching thousands of men young and mature to remain strong in their, faith and the power of God ho matter the challenges before them; and
WHEREAS, outside of his time attending celebratory events alongside of his brother 4th District Cook County Commissioner Stanley. Moore, Steven thoroughly enjoyed dining at some of the most exquisite restaurants where he partook in delicious meals of his choice and set aside moments to laugh about matters .that would sometimes bring tears to our eyes. Steven was an admirable gentleman and more importantly a man that was created in the image and likeness of God; and
WHEREAS, it is only apropos to say that every letter in his first name, Steven stood for something: S stands for Sacrificial because he always placed others above himself. T stands for Tenacious he was determined to accomplish every task set before him. E_stands for Epitome he demonstrated every attribute of a leader with a true servant's heart; V stands for Visionary for his discernment was keen about,matters.that we often overlooked. E stands for Encourager his passion for others exuded one that gave many hope in the most dismal of times; and N stands for Natural for no person wijl bcable to replace the authentic love he shared with us all;,and
BE IT RESOLVED, that we, the Mayor and members ofthe City Council ofthe City of Chicago will gather on Wednesday, October 26, 2022, A.D. to express our sincere condolences in the passing of this great man and extend to 4th District Cook County Commissioner Stanley Moore (Lisa) and their two daughters in our continual prayers; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this resolution was prepared by 21st Ward Alderman Howard B. Brookins, Jr. and a more suitable copy will be presented to the family of 4th District Cook County Commissioner Stanley Moore at a later date.
