CELEBRATING THE LIFE OF A REMARKABLE MAN
THE HONORABLE ATTORNEY LEWIS MYERS. JR.
WHEREAS, the Honorable Attorney Lewis Myers, Jr., was called home by the GREAT I AM on a day we all hoped to spend additional time with him. Attorney Myers a man well-known for his integrity, expertise, illuminous smile and love for people humbly responded to the call of God, Come for I have designed a place specifically for thee; a mansion the size of two large cities where you will find photographs of the lives that you have helped over the course of your lifetime." Immediately, Attorney Lewis Myers, Jr. lifted up his spiritual right hand and connected with his Heavenly Father. The angels stood by the entrance gate and shouted with a voice of joy, Glory to the King, he made it home!
WHEREAS, the Honorable Attorney Lewis Myers, Jr. spent incalculable hours examining some of the most challenging cases, he also took time to counsel anyone affected by the injustices of this nation, and with that oftentimes it was to the point he went nights without proper sleep and nourishment for his body. Attorney Lewis Myers, Jr. was passionate about his work and always took a strong stand on his beliefs. Attorney Lewis Myers, Jr. always showed a heart of gold to everyone he encountered; and
WHEREAS, many that have sat under the tutelage of Attorney Myers, Jr. appreciated his never-ending patience and keen foresight about issues that seemed insurmountable and strategically impossible to handle. The Honorable Attorney Lewis Myers, Jr. figuratively speaking, took the bull by the horns and lead the way on every forefront; and
WHEREAS, outside of his time serving as an amazing advocate for people, the Honorable Attorney Lewis Myers, Jr. thoroughly enjoyed spending time with his family listening to smooth jazz, tasting flavorful dishes and being in the company of some of his closest associates and others that admired his knowledge as a professional, husband, father and more importantly a great friend; and
WHEREAS, it is only apropos to say that every letter in his last name, Myers stood for something: M stands for Meticulous he was very careful in his delivery of words. Y stands for Yielded he always kept his ear close to the heart of the people. E stands for Exceptional because every case he fought he went beyond those who only produced average work. R stands for Righteous for he trusted in the Word of God
faithfully and knew nothing was too hard for him to overcome. S stands for Sensational his personality was absolutely contagious.
BE IT RESOLVED, that the Mayor and the members of City Council will gather on Wednesday, June 27, 2018; A.D. to acknowledge the Honorable Attorney Lewis Myers, Jr. for his years of servitude; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this resolution was prepared by 21st Ward Alderman Howard B. Brookins, Jr. and a more suitable copy will be presented at a later date.
