CELEBRATING THE LIFE OF AN INCREDIBLE WOMAN OF FAITH

MRS. DE ELLA B. KEYS

 

 

WHEREAS, on Monday, June 22,2020, Mrs. DeElia B. Keys was called home by the GREAT I AM, "Come for I have a prepared a place specifically for thee a mansion the size of a nation where each room is filled with elegant framed photographs ofthe many lives that you have touched. As you cross the threshold of your new home slightly there you will notice in the west wing are'spotless floors linedwith flawless diamonds, precious rubies and some ofthe most exquisite pearls thatyou have ever seen." Immediately, tears began to stream from her eyes and her precious soul connected with Jesus Christ. The Angels stood by Heaven's Gate shouting with an exuberant voice, "Glory to God - Mrs. DeElia B. Keys is coming home!"

 

WHEREAS, the scripture states, "She is clothed with strength and dignity and she can laugh at the days to come," {Proverbs 31:25) we can all attest to the fact, Mrs. DeElia B. Keys was a woman of her word, an exceptional mother, the perfect wife to Mr. Wilburt Keys Sr., and One of the greatest gifts God bestowed as my constituent in the 21st Ward; and

 

WHEREAS, Mrs. DeElia B. Keys lifestyle exemplified the very essence of a prayer warrior and through the years her divine relationship was one that most desired to be modeled. On this day and years to come my office will always cherish the moments we; were allowed to engage in conversation with her during Constituent Night, Block Club Parties, CAES Meetings, and other social gatherings. In the midst of this very difficult season may we glean from one another's strength and share an authentic love for each other as Mrs. DeElia B. Keys has always shown towards everyone that she encountered; and

 

NOW/THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and the members of City Council will gather together on the 9th Day of September 2020 A.D.,-. and express their sincere condolences and prayers to her husband, Mr. Wilburt Keys Sr., brothers: Lavern Blair (Mary); and Thomas Blair; sisters: Shirley Nicholsoriand.Geraldine Griffin; son: Claude Blair (Bernadette) and daughters: Moriyon Hargett, Karen Yancey, Denetrice Sercye (William) and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, lifelong friend, Johnny Cook; and neighbors of the 8700 block of South Bishop Street; and

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this resolution was prepared by 21st Ward Alderman Howard B; Brookins, Jr., and a more suitable copy will be presented to the family of Mrs. DeElia B. Keys at a later date.
