^?h,6f6dS ' w'*h nearts fu" of bes* wishes for his future, mixed with regret to see him go, the Members of this Chamber are pleased to congratulate Michael Faulman, Special Assistant to Mayor Rahm Emanuel, on the occasion of his departure from City service; and
WHEREAS, For the past five years, Mr. Faulman has served as an invaluable member of the Mayor's senior staff. Prior to joining the Mayor's Office, Mr. Faulman served in the White House Office of Scheduling and Advance. In 2010, he traveled to Chicago, where he worked tirelessly alongside Rahm Emanuel during his mayoral campaign; and
WHEREAS, An exceptional public servant, Mr. Faulman is affectionately known as the Mayor's "eyes and ears" or "body man"; and
WHEREAS, Always the consummate professional, Mr. Faulman is widely admired for his cool demeanor under pressure, his intellectual acumen, his sound judgment, his cooperative spirit, his loyalty and determination, and his unique blend of candor, discernment, integrity and trustworthiness; and
WHEREAS, A man who Is truly loved by his colleagues, Mr. Faulman is widely perceived as being one of the warmest and most helpful people in City Hall; and
WHEREAS, A quick study, who easily mastered the nuances of complex policies and events, Mr. Faulman has spent countless hours with Mayor Emanuel, jokingly remarking that "they are like a couple;" and
WHEREAS, An exceptional role model and mentor, Mr. Faulman has earned the respect of the Members of the City Council and of everyone fortunate enough to work with him for his enthusiasm, dedication, patience, diplomacy and grace; and
WHEREAS, Because Mr. Faulman has never been one to seek public acclaim or praise for his hard work and countless efforts to make Chicago "the City that works," the people of Chicago are not fully aware of the scope and significance of his many contributions to our great City; and
WHEREAS, For this reason, it is especially appropriate to recognize Mr. Faulman's considerable talents, abilities and years of devoted service to the City of Chicago before he departs City government to enter a new phase in his remarkable and extraordinary life; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED, That we, the Mayor and Members of the City Council of the City of Chicago, assembled this twenty-second day of June, 2016, do hereby express our heartfelt gratitude and thanks to Michael Faulman for his exemplary service to the Mayor's Office and to the people of Chicago; and extend to him our best wishes for continued health, happiness, prosperity and success in all of his future endeavors; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Michael Faulman as a token of our appreciation and esteem.
