Memorial Resolution for Carolyn Elaine Moslev

WHEREAS, It is with great sadness that the members of this chamber learned of the departure of Carolyn Elaine Mosley on August 29, 2018; and

WHEREAS, This esteemed body has been notified of her passing by the Honorable Toni Foulkes, Alderman of the 16th Ward; and

WHEREAS, Carolyn Elaine Mosley was born on April 10, 1958, to Howard and Lorsie Jones, in Marshall County, Mississippi; and

WHEREAS, She obtained her education from Chicago Public Elementary Schools, and a Chicago Public High School; and

WEREAS, Carolyn then moved to Gary, Indiana, where she attended mechanic school and learned to service trucks and automobiles. She then went on to receive her license to drive eighteen-wheelers; and

WHEREAS, While living in Indiana, Carolyn gave birth to her only child, Dwoyne Baker, who was her everything until she had grandchildren; and

WHEREAS, Carolyn Elaine Mosley leaves to carry on her legacy: her only child, Dwoyne Baker; grandchildren, Deshawn Watson, Dwoyne Baker Jr., Alijah Larrue, and Gabrielle Elaine Rene Baker; Candis Lynnette Watson whom she considered her daughter; two sisters, Nancy Louis and Martha Fitts, both of Little Rock, Arkansas; three brothers, Alvin (Kathleen) Jones of Chicago, Illinois, Gary Jones of Chicago, Illinois, Timmie (Angel) Mosley of Texas; and a host of family and friends; and

WHEREAS, Carolyn touched the lives of all who knew her selfless heart and spirit. She will be deeply missed, but her memory will live on through her loved ones; now, therefore,

BE IT RESOLVED, That we, the Mayor and members of the City Council of the City of Chicago, gathered here this twentieth day of September, 2018, do hereby express our sorrow on the passing of Carolyn Elaine Mosley and extend to her family our sincere condolences.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be prepared and presented to the family of Carolyn Elaine Mosley as a token of our respect.
