WHEREAS, In His Infinite Wisdom, Almighty God has granted Claude Wyatt III, an outstanding citizen and devoted public servant, eternal rest on Friday, December 5,2014; and
WHEREAS, Claude Wyatt III began his life journey in this city on July 21,1942 as the second child of loving parents, Claude and Addie Wyatt. His family members and friends affectionately called him "Dee Dee". His mother discovered Claude's vocal talent and that talent was utilized as part of the Wyatt Choral Ensemble. He served as a choir member and also as one of the lead soloists at Vernon Park Church of God. Claude studied Choral Direction under the late Rev. James Whitehurst, and later became the Director of Music and Choral Director for Vernon Park Church; and
WHEREAS, After graduating elementary school, he entered Hirsch High School and graduated in 1961. Claude continued his education at Worsham College of Mortuary Science and received his masters of Arts & Theological Science degree from McCormick Theological Seminary; and
WHEREAS, Claude Wyatt III "Dee Dee", an Election Supervisor for the City of Chicago, was a vital and dedicated employee during the time of his employment. He was a gentle man who captured the heart of a young woman, the former Olivia Young, who became his loving wife and mother of their three children: one daughter, Claudia and two sons, Allen and Brian. Olivia Wyatt was granted eternal rest, but love eventually blossomed once again for Dee Dee when met the former Yvonne E. Magee. Claude Wyatt III and Yvonne were united in Holy Matrimony on July 12, 2005. During their nine years of Wedded Bliss, Claude and Yvonne created many precious memories together, with their children and with other loving family members; and
WHEREAS, Claude "Dee Dee" Wyatt III leaves behind to mourn his loss and cherish his memory his beloved wife, Yvonne; two sons, Allen and Brian (Noelia); one daughter, Claudia (William); step-son, Darius Magee; step-daughter, Zipporah Phillips (Preston); nine grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, one aunt, Maude McKay; godson, Marcus Fletcher; goddaughter, Candace Fletcher and a host of other relatives and close friends which includes the many people who shared with him the joys of making Christian music in ensembles and choirs nationwide; and
WHEREAS, The Honorable Michelle A. Harris, Alderman ofthe 8th Ward and Chairman of the Committee on Committees, Rules and Ethics, has apprised this august body of the passing of Claude Wyatt III, now therefore
Be It Resolved, That we, the Mayor and members of the Chicago City Council of the City of Chicago, assembled together this tenth day of December, 2014 A.D., do hereby express our collective sorrow upon learning of the passing of Claude Wyatt III and extend our deepest condolences to his family and all those special friends whose lives he touched.
Be It Further Resolved, That a suitable copy of this resolution be prepared and presented to the family of Claude Wyatt III.
