TRIBUTE TO THE LIFE OF SHARON BONDS
 
 
 
WHEREAS, God in His infinite wisdom and judgment has called His precious daughter, Sharon Bonds home to her eternal reward and everlasting life at the age of fifty-four; and
 
WHEREAS, This Honorable body has been informed of her transition by the esteemed Alderman of the 8th Ward, Michelle A. Harris, and Chairman of the Committee on Committees, Rules and Ethics; and
 
WHEREAS, Sharon Bonds, the loving daughter of Alston and Juanita Bonds was born December 21, 1959 in Chicago, Illinois. She attended Delano Elementary School and graduated from Jones Commercial High School, and was the loving sister of three siblings; one sister predeceased her in death; and
 
WHEREAS, A devout Christian, Sharon was baptized at a young age at Lena Hampton, and accepted the Lord as her Savior. She was a faithful member of Harvey Memorial Community Church where she participated joyously with the congregation; and
 
WHEREAS, Her love of life and ability to live it to the fullest endeared Sharon Bonds to her family members, friends and all who knew her and enabled her to enrich their lives in ways they will never forget; and
 
WHEREAS, Sharon Bonds held several jobs and was a dedicated employee at each of them; the 1st National Bank, L&M Delivery Service and at the Jewel Food Stores, but her life changed forever when she became a Mary Kay Consultant. When it came to skincare, Sharon Bonds was a trusted global name in Chicago. Her thirty-five years of experience brought her customers confidence in their purchases, and her honesty brought them back as repeat satisfied customers; and
WHEREAS, Sharon Bonds was a loving and devoted daughter, sister, aunt, friend, and good neighbor to all. She will be deeply missed but warmly remembered for her warmth, kindness and the dedication she demonstrated towards mankind; and
 
WHEREAS, Her parents, Alston and Juanita and sister Gloria Edwards, having predeceased her, Sharon leaves to celebrate her life and cherish her memory, her siblings, Ethel Edwards (sister) and Ronald Bonds (brother); two nieces, Allecia Edwards and Kristin Bonds; three nephews, Sean Edwards, Sr., Corey Edwards and Eric Edwards; great nieces, Asia, Dominique, Shaquan, Erica, Tarjay, and Kendall; great nephews, Sean Jr., Kendell and Kentrell; great-great nephew, Sean III and a host of other relatives and many friends including a lifelong friend, Maurice; now, therefore,
 
Be It Resolved, That we, the Mayor and members of the City Council of the City of Chicago, gathered here this 30th day of July 2014 A.D., do hereby offer our heartfelt sympathy to the family, friends and loved ones of Sharon Bonds and express our hope that the coldness of their grief be soon replaced by their warm memories of her.
