CELEBRATING THE 95111 BIRTHDAY OF THE EXTRAORDINARY
MR. JACK LORENZO LYONS
WHEREAS, on November 18,1923,.Goclsaw fit to grace this world with the. amazing birth of Mr, Jack Lorenzo Lyons, also, known as a dear friend of my family and .one. of my longest residing 21s! Ward, constituents. As I take great pleasure in paying tribute to a man of integrity, determination and compassion for people; it is my sincere hope that others will follow the same path Mr. Lyons began some time ago; and
WHEREAS, the bible says that, "A good man's steps are ordered by the Lord." Without a shadow of a doubt in my mind, I can proudly say that Mr. Lyons is faithful to his word and it is,shown in his actions with his family and as a neighbor in the Beverly community. MrJack Lorenzo Lyons is the type of person one will always have a great appreciation for and feel beyond honored, to have in one's life; and
WHEREAS, today, men like Mr. Jack Lorenzo Lyons is difficult to find. Mr: Lyons was an oyerachieyer during his studies at DuSable High School. His sharp-mind and quick way of thinking compelled him tO' take a leap of faith when he joined the United States Army where he served in World War II. He later managed parking lots in the Lincoln Park area to chauffeuring the Harlem Globetrotters. Eventually, Mr. Lyons went on to work for the United States Postal-Service where he decided to-finish his career of service. Mr. Lyons previous work ethic proves when the Lord opens one door other doors are sure to follow when you remain committed to being a humble servant; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Jack Lorenzo Lyons name means much more than your average name. Every letter in his middle name, Lorenzo has a significant meaning: L stahds-for Listens with the intent to share wise counsel. O stands for Optimistic about life when others would rather give up. R stands fqr/?eady to share his very last so others could benefit from his generosity. E stands;for Eager to spend quality time with his family and friendsN stands for Never a dull moment with him for he always makes'you laugh. Z stands for Zealous.in the. things of the Lord and O stands for Outstanding man of faith overall; and
BE IT RESOLVED, that the Mayor and the members of City Council will gather together on the 12th Day of.December; A.D., to express our best wishes to Mr. Jack Lorenzo Lyons and his wife, Ms. Dorothy Lyons, two children, Stephanie and Jack Jr., daughter-in-law Kendra Lyons and three grandchildren Michael, Jack III and Joy; five great grandchildren, Mica, Saturn, Joshua, Ishia and Allana.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this resolution was prepared by 21st Ward Alderman Howard B. Brookins, Jr., and a more suitable copy will be presented to the Mr. Jack Lorenzo Lyons at a later date.
