of the City of Chicago, Illinois
Memorial Resolution for Queen Esther Tramble
WHEREAS, It is with great sadness that members of this Chamber learned of the death of Queen Esther Tramble;
WHEREAS, The City Council has been informed of her passing by Willie B. Cochran, Alderman of the 20th Ward;
WHEREAS, Married to AI Kindle, Queen Esther Tramble will be forever remembered by her family which includes: daughters Surrebea Tramble and Chantia Kindle, Kamilah Kindle, sons Darnell Johnson and Atukwe Kindle; sisters Annie Tramble, Princetta Tramble, Telecia Tramble and a brother Troy Tramble; grandchildren Mariah Perrin, Tyronnesha Watson, Daniel Roberts Jr., and Adrian Johnson; and her close friends including Helen Bowman, Brenda Brown, Laura Bass and Lashawn Waiters;
WHEREAS, The City of Chicago always played a large role in her life and it was here during Harold Washington's historic re-election campaign that she met her future husband AI Kindle when he recruited her as a volunteer;
WHEREAS, Queen Esther Tramble married AI Kindle on October 26, 1996;
WHEREAS, Throughout her life, she worked to improve the lives of Chicagoans with 15 years of service to the Chicago Housing Authority in various outreach positions. Her dedication to these families, especially children in public housing, will be greatly missed;
WHEREAS, Her service to the community continued in her many volunteer and advocacy positions focusing on youth education and equal opportunity, for which she received numerous awards and community recognition;
WHEREAS, Even more than her work, Queen placed the church and family paramount in her life. As a member of Christ Baptist Church she committed herself to the church choir and usher board. And as the matriarch of a large and lovingly devoted family, Queen worked to insure that everyone in her family received a proper education and used that education to excel in life.
WHEREAS, Everyone that knew her will miss her big loving smile and the way she brightened up any room she was in;
BE IT RESOLVED, That we, the Mayor and members of the City of Chicago City Council, assembled here this 24th Day of July, 2013 AD, do hereby express our sorrow on the death of Queen Esther Tramble and extend to her family and friends our deepest sympathy; and
