WHEREAS, The members of this City Council Chamber were deeply saddened to teem of the passing of Ruthie L. Reynolds on July 10, 2013, an outstanding citizen of the Austin community in Chicago, by 37th Ward Alderman Emma Mitts,  Recently, Ruthie L. Reynolds finished her race as a strong Christian woman of fafth and has ascended to receive her crown of righteousness in the hallowed halls of heaven.
 
WHEREAS, Ruthie L. Reynolds, known to everyone as "Sue", was born into existence on June 2, 1963 in Chicago, Illinois to Billy H. Reynolds and Mary Glover, one of seven children born of this loving union; and
 
WHEREAS, Ruthie L. Reynolds received her spiritual direction from Christ at an early age and was baptized at White Cloud Church, under the leadership of the late Pastor TJ. Murray, and later a member of True Holiness Church of God in Christ [C.O.G.LCJ under the leadership of her father, Bishop Billy H. Reynolds, where she was a member ofthe choir. She loved singing, and was a talented writer of plays and short stories. Ruthie remained active in the church until her health failed; and
 
WHEREAS, Ruthie was educated at Lincoln Elementary in Harvey, Illinois and graduated from Thornton Township High School, also in Harvey, Illinois. Further, Ruthie L. Reynolds was employed by Marshall Fields for 15 years; she then worked at Add us Healthcare for over 4 years; and
 
WHEREAS, Ruthie was the fifth of seven children, and when she transitioned from life on July 10*, she joined her two brothers who preceded her in death: Billy H. Reynolds, Jr. and Richard E. Reynolds; and
 
WHEREAS, Ruthie leaves to cherish her precious memories her parents: Mother, Ms. Mary Glover; Father, Bishop Billy H. Reynolds (Ann) of Chicago, IL.; two daughters, Tonika Bromley of Florida and Jody Reynolds of Chicago; three sons, Richard Reynolds, Billy Watts and Krystain Watts; two sisters, Cora Reynolds Watson (James) and Sandra Reynolds of Chicago, IL.; Two brothers, Jay of Fort Wayne, Indiana; James Reynolds of Chicago, IL.; two grandchildren, Marc A. Bromley, Jr. and Ameriah S. Lee; a very special individual - Aisha Ward, and a very special Aunt & Uncle - Dorothy and James Owens, as well as a host of aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews and friends, and two special cousins, Sylvia Mitchell and Theresa Byrd.
 
 
WHEREAS, Ruthie L. Reynolds was well-known and beloved for her quick smile, soft and warm heart and a deep commitment to making life better for all, she also enjoyed celebrating with close friends and relatives, with a unique gift for making everyone feel comfortable; and
 
WHEREAS, On July 10, 2013 after a season of illness, she took her well-deserved earthly rest and quietly left this life - - taking up residence in her new heavenly home; and now
 
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, That we, the Mayor and Members of the City Council of the City of Chicago, assembled this twenty-fourth day of July, 2013, do hereby applaud the exceptional (He of the late Ruthie L. Reynolds on the behalf of the citizens of Chicago; and
