CONGRATULATIONS EXTENDED TO POLICE OFFICER GREGORY OUTLAW ON RETIREMENT FROM THE CHICAGO POLICE DEPARTMENT ;

 

 

 

;      WHEREAS, On January 16, 2017, Police Officer Gregory Outlaw retired from the Chicago Police Department following twenty-two years of dedicated public service; and

. 'vi' WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been informed of this occasion by the . Honorable Willie B. Cochran, Alderman of the 20th Ward; and

' :\WHEREAS, Police Officer Gregory Outlaw, Star #18552, retired as a valued member of
the 2nd District; and

WHEREAS, Dedication to and fulfillment of the motto of the Chicago Police
Department -"We Serve and Protect" - exacts a substantial physical and emotional toll not only,
on the officers who. must daily cope with the stress and danger of being life's arbitrator for
countless citizens, but also on their family members; and   '

, •. WHEREAS, Throughout a long and distinguished tenure, Officer Gregory Outlaw
upheld the finest traditions of law enforcement community and his hard work, commitment and .
dedication to duty earned him the respect and admiration of his colleagues and the'communities ,

he protected; and .

': WHEREAS, Police Officer Gregory Outlaw devoted twenty-two years of his life in public service to the people of the City of Chicago and in doing so has personally ensured that the City of Chicago is the safe, healthy and vibrant community it is today; and      • -

owed our public servants, and extend our sincerest gratitude to the long and prolific career of •

Be It Resolved, That we, the Mayor and members of the City Council of the City of : Chicago gathered here this 13lh day of December, 2017, do hereby express our gratitude for twenty-two years of work in service to the people of the City of Chicago, and express our heartfelt wishes on a pleasant retirement to Gregory Outlaw; and
