WHEREAS, on Saturday, July 6, 2013, we stand to pay special tribute to Mrs. Mary Helen Davis, formerly a longtime resident of the 21st Ward for cultivating a garden filled with fresh vegetables and flowers. Mrs, Davis was called home to be with the Great I AM on March 30,2010. As her spiritual body departed from her physical being, her loving husband Eddie Davis, caring son, Tonnie Crtiffin, and devoted four siblings: Christine Griffin, Alvin Cmffin, Leroy Griffin, and Mildred Crawford whom preceded her in death, met her by Heaven's Gate shouting. 'Thank you Lord for calling her Home!"
 
WHEREAS, the scripture states, "my sheep know my voice and a stranger they will not follow," Mrs. Mary Helen Davis refused to allow her inner-spirit to be tainted with false doctruoe. Mrs. Davis lifestyle always exemplified the character of a Proverbs 31 Woman. She knew how to Pray, Fast and when to be still; and
 
WHEREAS, Mrs. Mary Helen Davis tirelessly gave of herself to her community and family and she always remained faitliful to handling her personal business affairs and always carried an optimistic spirit even in some of the most difficult times of life. Mrs. Davis was an exceptional woman inside and out, an absolute gem, and definitely one that we will forever cherish within our hearts everyday moving forward: and
 
WHEREAS, Mrs. Helen Davis leaves to cherish her loving memories are her two sons, Carl Griffin (Tamrnie) and Anderson Cmffin (Kristen), and four stepchildren: Lola Davis, Janette Lockett (Felix), Phelisha Smith, and Paul Smith. She also leaves behind nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild who were the absolute joy of her life: Latrina, Carl Jr., Keila, Arianna, Willie, Tana, Aaron, Neema, Laila, and Carla. One brother: Spencer (Mildred) and four sisters: Bertha Shaw, Idella Davidson (Curtis), Minnie Gilmore (Edward), and Patricia Anderson. There are many others who held a special place in Mary Helen's heart, including her in-laws, step-grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends that are too many to name; and therefore
 
BE IT RESOLVED, that the Mayor and members of the City Council of the City of Chicago, will gather together on the 24rh Day of July, 2013, A.D., to express their warmest wishes in the celebration of Mrs. Mary Helen Davis and extend to her family and friends our many blessings; and
 
 
 
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that a suitable copy of this resolution prepared and presented to the family of Mrs. Mary Helen Davis.
