WHEREAS, God in His Infinite Wisdom has called Foster Morish, most beloved citizen, to his eternal reward on May 29, 2018; and
WHEREAS, This august body has been informed of his passing by the Honorable Emma Mitts, Alderman ofthe 37th Ward; and
WHEREAS, Foster was born on October 18,1958 in Chicago, Illinois to the union of Frederick Morish Sr. and (the late) Mary Lee Morish. Foster grew up in Chicago and received his education within the Chicago Public School System; and
WHEREAS, On June 9,1978, at the age of twenty years old, Foster courageously enlisted United States Armed Forces and honorably served his country. After completing his tour of duty he returned home and began his career at the United States Postal Service. Known for his strong work ethic and a passion for civil service, Foster worked several positions prior to his promotion to Plant manager and continued his dedicated service until his retirement following thirty-five years; and
WHEREAS, He is preceded in death by his mother, Mary Lee Morish; sister, Cynthia Hibble and brother, David Hibble. Foster leaves to cherish his loving and precious memories his father, Frederick Morish Sr.; five brothers, Frederick Morish, Anthony Morish, Tommie Morish, Daman Morish and John Hibble; three sisters, Beverly Morish, Demetris Morish and Carrie Ann Hibble; three aunts, Mary Word, Bernice Hillman and Luella Dixon and a host of extended family and treasured friends; and
WHEREAS, Foster touched the lives of all who knew him through his kindness, generosity and spirit. His sincere engagement in his community will ensure he is deeply missed, however, his dedication and compassion will live on in those who knew and loved him; now, therefore,
Be It Resolved, That we, the Mayor and members of the City Council of the City of Chicago, gathered here this twenty-seventh day of June, 2018 do hereby commemorate Foster Morish for his lifetime contributions and do hereby extend to his family and many friends our sincere condolences.
