RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, Kiddieland Educational Center of Excellence is an educational institution founded on March 12, 2012 by Zarahi and Carlos Menendez. The center is located at 3809 North Cicero Avenue, Chicago, Illinois, 60641. Kiddieland ECE is not only a State-of the-Art child care center offering quality care and education to children; it is a community within itself. The school is devoted to setting children on a path for success; and,
WHEREAS, Kiddieland's mission is to give children a solid foundation to build upon for their future academic success, a lifetime of learning and leadership. With a more than exceptional care and education, they will gain the excellence of a healthier, more productive life; and,
WHEREAS, Kiddieland's philosophy offers the right start for children, focusing on the process of learning so that they develop not only skills but also a love for knowledge. Their philosophy shows a powerful, strong, and unconditional respect for children, and their ideas, feelings, experiences, and connections within their lives. For them, care and learning go hand in hand; and,
WHEREAS, Kiddieland's goal is for children to be happy and comfortable during his or her stay each day and to allow families to head off to their daily routine with peace of mind. While they are busy during the day, children are busy learning and growing; and,
WHEREAS, Kiddieland's program is inspired by Reggio Emilia Approach, an Italian revolutionary way of teaching. The rationale for pursuing Reggio elements is to provide children with rich learning experiences and support programs to strengthen families. The Reggio approach, moreover, invites and encourages all adults, involved teachers, administrators, and parents to be thinkers, communicators, creators, collaborators, problem solvers, and negotiators as they become more thoughtful and reflective; and,
WHEREAS, On Friday, May 8, 2015, Kiddieland Educational Center of Excellence will be holding their third anniversary celebration and will be dedicating their Green Park to the Honorable Timothy M. Cullerton, Alderman of the 38th Ward, in recognition for his thirty seven years of service to the City of Chicago, the Portage Park community, and for his devotion and distinguished support to the ideals and principles of the Menendez family in the foundation of Kiddieland Educational Center of Excellence; and therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED, That we, the Mayor and members of the City Council of the City of Chicago, gathered here this 6th day of May, 2015 A.D., do hereby commend Kiddieland Educational Center of Excellence for their dedication and service offering quality care and education to children; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be prepared for presentation to Kiddieland Educational Center of Excellence.
