RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, Chak Ning Moy has been called to eternal life by the wisdom of God at the age of 64 to his eternal reward; and
WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been informed of his passing by the Honorable Patrick D. Thompson, Alderman of the 11 th Ward; and
WHEREAS.Chak Ning Moy.is survived by his wife YuenMei of 39 years, his daughters Linda Moy (Solomon Wu), Cherie Moy (Tim Mo), son Edwin Moy (Jamie Xu), his mother Jin Xiao Zhen, his brothers Jack (Jennifer) Moy, Zhuo Wei (Winnie) Moy and Joe (Lilian) Moy, his sister Julie Moy (Edmund) Woo, his grandsons Aaron Mo, Brian Mo, Ethan Moy and Darren Moy, and many loving nieces, nephews and extended family. Chak was a loving son, husband, father, grandpa, brother, and friend to everyone; and
WHEREAS, Chak was an honorable warrior at heart. The young Chak immigrated to the United States with a small suitcase in hand. He worked hard to set his roots in Chicago. With his two hands, he built two businesses from the ground up and acquired various real estate properties as part of his legacy. He wanted to leave this legacy for his children and grandchildren. Later, he was diagnosed with kidney failure at the prime of his life. Yet, he did not let this discourage him, from living his life to the fullest. He battled with kidney failure, kidney transplant and then kidney failure again. He refused to succumb to his illnesses. He survived countless procedures and surgeries. He fought with all his might to. stay strong physically, emotionally, and mentally, because he knew he was the fortress and pillar of strength for his family. Despite how many health issues he was facing, he willingly drove his mom, wife, daughters, son, grandsons to work orany appointments, meetings, play dates, grocery shopping trips and/or visits to the extended family. He fought each battle bravely and courageously in the past 20 years just so he could continue/to support his family in whatever way he can; and '
WHEREAS, Chak was not only a loving and filial son; a supportive big brother; a strong-loving husband; a wonderful, encouraging, and supportive father; and a fun-loving grandpa. He -was also helpful and generous. He never turned down an opportunity to lend a helping hand to anyone who needed it; and
WHEREAS, His love of life and ability to live it to the fullest endeared Chak Ning Moy to his family members, friends and all who knew him, and enabled him to enrich their lives in ways they will never forget; now, therefore :

BE IT RESOLVED, That we, the Mayor and members of the City Council ofthe City of Chicago gathered here this ninth of September 2020, do hereby express our sorrow on the death of Chak Ning Moy and extend to his family and friends our deepest sympathy; and
