RESOL UTION CELEBRA TING THE LIFE OF APOSTLE LOUIS CARTER
 
WHEREAS, In His infinite wisdom, Almighty God has called His faithful servant, Apostle Louis Carter, Pastor and Bishop of Colony All Nations Pentecostal Church, to his eternal rest and everlasting peace on April 16, 2015; and
 
WHEREAS, Apostle Louis Carter started his seventy-eight years of life on June 3, 1936 in Smithdale, Mississippi, as the fourth child of the late Milton and Cora Carter. He graduated from Lillie Mae Bryant High School in 1955 and relocated to Chicago to start his career with the railroad. In 1957 he began working for The Belt Railway and after forty-one and a half years of dedicated service to the company he retired. He was a hard worker and strong believer of achievements. He attended Dunbar Vocational Evening School and received a plumbing certificate in 1979; and
 
WHEREAS, Louis Carter received salvation and spiritual counseling as an active member of God's House of All Nations. He was ordained a Deacon and became a Minister in 1981. Apostle Louis Carter was appointed Assistant Superintendent of the Sunday school and later was promoted Head Superintendent of the Sunday school department. He remained under God's House of All Nations ministry until the Lord called him to pastor in 1993. Apostle Louis Carter was ordained Pastor and Bishop of Colony All Nations Pentecostal Church; and
 
WHEREAS, Apostle Louis Carter was blessed to spread the gospel throughout the United States. His most spiritually rewarding visit was spreading the gospel globally in Kenya, Africa; and
 
WHEREAS, Apostle Louis Carter lived the work of the Lord, nourishing the souls of his faithful followers, as well as providing for the worldly needs of his parishioners. His mission was carried out by many means; he left no stone unturned in his effort to spread the gospel; and
 
WHEREAS, Apostle Louis Carter and the former Sarah Faye were united in Holy Matrimony and would have been celebrating their Golden Wedding Anniversary (50 years) in November 2015. Louis, Sarah and their children spent quality time together creating many memorable moments that will last a life time; and
 
WHEREAS, Apostle Louis Carter's cherished legacy lives on with his beloved wife, Sarah Faye; children, Louis, Arretta Lynn (Anthony) Black, Phyllis (Michael) Walker, and Sonya (Bennie) Chapman; grandchildren, British (Joshua) Richardson, Breon, Romello, Benjamin, and Erin; grandson, Jordan; great grandchildren, TraMyah and Joshun; sisters, Ruth Jackson and Kurtil Bell; brother, James (Cheryl) Carter; spiritual daughters and sons, godchildren, and a host of other relatives and many friends. His parents, a brother, L.C. and sisters, Eloise and Bennie Jean preceded him in death; now, therefore,
 
Be It Resolved, That we, the Mayor and members of the Chicago City Council, gathered here this sixth day of May 2015, A.D., do hereby honor the life and memory of Apostle Louis Carter and extend our heartfelt condolences to his family.
