MEMORIAL
RESOLUTION
 
 
 
WHEREAS, Almighty God in His infinite wisdom and judgment has called Terrell Jenkins, Jr., an outstanding citizen and member of his community, to his everlasting reward, Wednesday November 19, 2014; and
 
WHEREAS, This august body has been informed of Terrell Jenkins, Jr.'s transition by the Honorable Toni L. Foulkes, Alderman of the 15th Ward; and
 
WHEREAS, Terrell Jenkins, Jr., born November 14, 1928 in Butler, Georgia to the late Terrell and Ophelia Jenkins. He was the eldest of three children who brought happiness into the Jenkins Family home; and
 
WHEREAS, Terrell Jenkins, Jr. confessed his hope in Christ at a young age and participated joyously with the congregations of several churches. His last membership was with St. Mark Church, under the leadership of the late Elder Terry. Terrell served his country proudly in the United States Army. He served in the Korean War and received the Korean Service Medal, two Bronze Service Stars, United Nations Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Combat Infantry Badge and Republic of Korea President's Unit Citation; and
 
WHEREAS, Terrell met and married the love of his life, Marjorie, this loving couple was blessed with seven children. They were a match made in heaven; Marjie was a great cook and Terrell loved to show her his appreciation with his hefty appetite. Terrell and Marjie shared many memorable and cherished times together, with their children, extended family members and their many friends; and
 
WHEREAS, Terrell Jenkins, Jr. will always be remembered as a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, friend and neighbor who reached out and touched the lives of many in countless ways; and
 
WHEREAS, His loving wife, Marjie and son, Irvin having preceded him in death, Terrell Jenkins, Jr. leaves to celebrate his life and cherish his memory his six children, Jacqueline (Jimmy), Cynthia, Terry, Nancy (Richard) Mona (James) and Phonstaylor (Pammie); sister, Clara; brother, Harold; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; special friends, Mrs. Melton Ms. Yolanda, Sammie, Jean, Mark, Paul, and John; a host of nieces, nephews and friends; now, therefore,
 
Be It Resolved, That we, the Mayor and members of the City Council of the City of Chicago, gathered here this 21st day of January 2015 A.D., do hereby extend our sincere condolences to the family and loved ones of Terrell Jenkins, Jr.
