TRIBUTE TO WILLIE MAE "MADEA" SANDERS
 
 
WHEREAS, In His Infinite Wisdom, Almighty God has granted Willie Ann Sanders eternal life after having gifted her with a century of temporal life; and
 
WHEREAS, Willie Ann Sanders, also known as "Madea" started life 100 years ago in Clarksdale, Mississippi as the second of nine children born to the union of the late Henry and Rosie Ann Williams. She confessed a hope in Christ at an early age and was baptized by Rev. Kandy from nearby Coahoma; and
 
WHEREAS, In 1953, Madea moved to this city's West Side. She united with New Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church that, at the time, was under the pastorate of Reverend D.B. Bishop and was an active member of The Beautifying Club until her health failed; and
 
WHEREAS, Willie Ann "Madea" Sanders made her heavenly transition just 14 days after her 10011' Birthday and leaves behind to mourn her passing and celebrate her long life six lovely children to cherish Willie M. Williams, Floria M. Weatherall and Betty I. Caddele, along with Rosie, Napoleon and Charles Sanders as well as her brother, Nathaniel; 22 loving grandchildren, 51 great-great-grandchildren; 39 great-great-great grandchildren and one great-great-great-grcal-grandson, and a host of special nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives as well as many, many friends.
 
WHEREAS, The Honorable Toni Foulkes, Alderman of the 15th Ward, has informed this august body about the long and prolific life and recent passing of this outstanding centenarian whose progeny numbers 119 and spans six generations; now therefore
 
BE IT RESOLVED That we, the Mayor and undersigned members of the City of Chicago City Council, gathered here this 13lh Day of November, 2013 AD, do hereby express our collective sorrow upon learning of the passing of Willie Ann Sanders and extend our deepest sympathy to her many family members, friends and all those whose lives she touched.
 
BE IT FURTFIER RESOLVED That a suitable copy of this resolution be prepared and presented to the family of Willie Ann Sanders.
