TRIBUTE TO WILLIAM HUDSON TR.
 
WHEREAS, It is with great sadness that members of this Chamber learned of the death of William Hudson Jr., and
 
WHEREAS, The City Council has been informed of his passing by The Honorable Carrie Austin, Alderman of the 34th Ward; and
 
WHEREAS, William Hudson, Jr., born on November 24th, 1947, was the oldest of five children. He married his sweetheart, Patricia Carter, in 1968 and enjoyed 45 blissful years of marriage. He is survived by his loving sisters, brothers, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and
 
WHEREAS, working hard his whole life to provide for his family and contribute to his community, Bill Hudson began his career at the young age of thirteen as a stocker at a grocery store, and succeeded in retail and sales as a young man. In 1980, he began working for the Cook County Sherriff s Department where he faithfully served as a Deputy Sheriff for 30 years, retiring in 2011 from the Markham County Courthouse; and
 
WHEREAS, as a forward thinker and entrepreneur, Bill created many jobs as the owner and proprietor of many different businesses across diverse fields of industry, and was known as an honest and kind leader in the business community; and
 
WHEREAS, many will remember him for his quick wit, his candor and his wisdom: Bill was an advisor to many and a stellar example of the success of a wholesome balance between family and professional duties; and
 
WHEREAS, William Hudson Jr. was a role model and a committed husband and father. He was an admired community member, an icon of hard work and a loyal friend to many; now, therefore,
 
Be It Resolved, that we, the Mayor and members of the City Council of the City of Chicago gathered here this day, do hereby express our sorrow on the death of William Hudson, Jr. and express to his family and friends our deepest sympathy; and
 
Be It Further Resolved, that a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of William Hudson, Jr. as a token of our honor, gratitude and respect.
