CONGRATULATIONS EXTENDED TO POLICE OFFICER GINA HURT ON RETIREMENT FROM THE CHICAGO POLICE DEPARTMENT

 

 

£ WHEREAS, On May 16, 2017, Police. Officer. Gina Hurt retired from the Chicago Police Department following twenty-two years of dedicated public service; arid

'.   WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been informed pf this occasion by the;" Honorable Willie B. Cochran, Alderman of the 20lh Ward; and . \;

v:       WHEREAS, Police Officer Gina Hurt, Star #18673, retires as a valued member of the
2nd District; and

WHEREAS, Dedication to and fulfillment of the motto of the Chicago Police . Department - "We Serve and Protect" - exacts a substantial physical and emotional toll not only - on the officers who must daily cope with the stress arid danger of being life's arbitrator for ; countless citizens, but also on their family members; and

.    WHEREAS, Throughout a iong and distinguished tenure, Officer Gina Hurt upheld the
finest traditions of law enforcement community and her hard work, commitment and dedication
to duty earned her the respect and admiration of her colleagues and the communities she.

WHEREAS, Police Officer Gina Hurt devoted twenty-two years of her life in public
service to the people of the City of Chicago and in doing so has personally ensured that the City
of Chicago is the safe, healthy and vibrant community .it is today; and

•'' WHEREAS, The leaders of this great City of Chicago are cognizant of the great debt . owed our public servants, and extend our sincerest gratitude to the long arid prolific career of Police Officer Gina Hurt; now, therefore

: Be It Resolved, That we, the Mayor and members of the City Council of the City of Chicago gathered here this 13th day of December, 2017, do hereby express our gratitude for twenty-two years of work in service to the people of the City of Chicago, and express our -heartfelt wishes on a pleasant retirement to Gina Hurt; and ,:
